Can you take a vid of it? We haven't been able to recreate that here, but it has happened to a few servos in use.

Who in this day and age still powers up their receiver with no transmitter present? Pretty sure just about every instruction manual written since '83 says to have the transmitter turned on first.

You had yours on to show us your settings were correct, then you purposely turn it off? Why?

That ain't the way I do it, but then again, my servo still works, so....

Next vid you put up, take the arm off the servo, power up the transmitter (and leave it on), then power up your truck, and let us know if the servo acts normally. If it does, point the truck's wheels straight ahead and put the arm back on the servo.

Hey John, I sent you an email through RCC the other day not sure if you would have seen it yet but is referring to my V2 servo that died on its first run in my yard and was just on grass.. I guess I just got that one in a million.. I have never had an issue with any of your stuff in the past so it just seems to have been one of those things. It was still on 7.4v as I hadn't had a chance to up the bec yet. The issue started when my wraith literally just tipped over in a turn on grass. On the bench the servo can turn the wheels half through then just slips and shutters and give in with little hand effort.

Stalling issues are stripped gears. Send email to warranty@ and we will get new ones out. We are already working to beef up the gears until gear failures are teeth chipping.

Sorry for being a noob, I just started getting into RC's and crawling and I am still learning. Thank you for the advice and I will try that as soon as I get a chance and let you know.

If you would like I can post another video but I followed your instructions and the servo still does the same thing. Also from my previous post the servo was working fine for the past 4 months and started doing this in the middle of a course I was running.

I have had (2) gear sets fail. I'm currently waiting on the next gen gear set jonathan told me was due in soon. In both cases one of the 2 piece gears seperated. The 2 piece gears just are NOT going to take the abuse of a 2.2 crawler. I bet your servo motor could break the gear set without moving the tires.
there's plenty of torque in this unit and it's pretty. Now, if we can just get some beefy gears for it.

I think we got a lazy machinist on some of the gears. I have been absolutely beating on the same ones in a 20mph wraith with not a failure yet.

The next batch will have about twice the press fit area, which will certainly help.

Quick question about the V2 servo, it is advertised as full Titanium grears. Are the full TI or TI coated? The reason I ask is that I broke a gear in one 20 min. out of the box. Holmes Hobbies was kind enough to send me a complete replacement gear set. Where the gear broke it looks like brass to me. I am not a metallurgist but it looks unusual. If they are TI coated it should be advertised that way. Not trying to stir the pot, because I don't want to lick the spoon. I am just not sure what I am seeing.

I purchased solid ti gears. If they are coated, boy do we have some ass kicking to do!
