I've gotten a little better at refraining from posting ideas rather than actual projects I intend to follow through with. I wasn't sure where this one was going when I started. Always wanted to build some sort of water feature & this little spot in the rocks kept jumping and screaming "pick me, pick me"... so.... Little Lake Wolf Dog Creek.... home of the creature from the black leather logoon.

Step 1. excavate. This took a long time because I tried to get my kids to do most of the digging and heavy lifting and they're only 3, 6 & 8. But eventually, they got it done.

Once I had a decent muddy hole, I put down small paver gravel, poured a layer of concrete, put an old piece of 1" square wire mesh fencing, cut & shaped into the first layer of concrete & smeared more concrete over the top. The fencing was just to add strength & I was trying to work with stuff I had lying around.

Once the concrete set, I excavated dirt from around the edges where there wasn't rock and filled it in with pea gravel & sand.

You're supposed to let the concrete cure for 60 days but I couldn't wait. I sealed it after about 3 weeks and then used Krylon spray paint to add some pizaz. I figure a dark blue fading to aqua-marine would give the illusion of depth & hit it with some variations of satin tan and grey around the edges to blend it in with the rock.

That's a nice looking course. The blue paint in the bottom really makes it look real I think & easy to do.

Some night time photos:

His photobucket account went over bandwidth. Too many people looking at pictures of his cwalrers and dollhouses.

Lucky for you guys I went to Dog Creek Wolf Park for Turks this weekend so I have a picture.

I've always liked your 4runner but that red one is one bad a$$ crawler. look at that articulation would ya?

cleaned out my PB account, says it takes a day to reset. Hopefully I'll get mine showing by tommorow & can add some new ones.

N00b has a couple more I think... but not as nice as that one.

lots of upside down video was taken too & Selenk was there with a really cool military multi-axle.

N00b has a way of finding these scale reptiles that I never seem to locate again.... I think he geneticly modifies them and brings them with him & releases them.

Anyway, photobucket issues resolved so here are a few of my shots from last weekend. Military multi axle is an unfinished build by a guy, Kurt, who came down from D.C. area. It's all metal & operational. I know some video was shot of it. All the leafs and I believe most of the suspension was scratch made. It was the first actual run & it moved very realisticly. Can't wait to see this one finished.

I shot a lot of video at the expense of stills and regret not getting as many shots of N00b's 4Runner. I did get one beautifuly framed shot of it with the hood slightly up... backwards.... ahhhh!

First display of the Autoart 1:10 BMW GS800 diecast. Pricey but nicely detailed bike and as anyone who's sought them out can tell you, 10 scale motorcylces are few and far between.

P.S. I think I got N00b hooked on bonsai. He'll have to refrain from bobbing beds to haul tiny shrubs.
