If I do they will be in the mail Monday.

You may need to flash the firmware again, if you have the bug where there is no reverse. Otherwise ready to go with lipo cutoff already on.

John, I don't have a clue what this means, "you may need to flash the firmware again,".
Help is needed!

Thanks,
Hawk

I dont want to answer for JRH...but I think he is saying hook the ESC up to your rig...if you dont have reverse then you got the ESC with the firmware "bug" and all you need to do is hook up the castle link to the esc and upload the newest update/firmware to fix it????

if you hook the esc up to your rig and the reverse is working norm then you are good to go..

clear as mud?

Yep, got her installed and it wasn't recognizing my transmitter inputs. Once I realized that it wasn't arming, I turned the transmitter off and back on again. It armed, but did not have reverse.

CC link fixed it all with a quick 1.02 firmware update. I had to go wth a bit wider of a throttle deadband setting, but everything is working fine for now.

I also removed the 4mm bullet posts for wires with bullets attached. I'm using this in a DNA slingshot, so they were a little taller than I liked.

I LOVE not having to use a BEC. My z9100t and HS225-MG are not stalling anything out on 2S/3S with a handwound 35T arm in an EPIC Cobalt can. Excellent ESC John, thanks.

Much cleaner wiring with no BEC to install. So far, no servo stalling.

53 Willys and J R H,

The following is a quote from 53 Willys reply dated 12-12-2009 09:52 PM , "and all you need to do is hook up the castle link to the esc and upload the newest update/firmware to fix it????".
This is what I do not know how to do.

I'm guessing you are talking about hooking the BR-XL ESC to a computer via a hard wire connection like the Mamba Max. The only problem is my BR-XL ESC does not have a USB port like the MMax. How do you make the connection to a computer????

I'm still stuck in the mud.

Thanks for the help,
Hawk

You need to use the Castle creations "Castle link". It basically is a connection at "receiver end" and turns it into USB , its pretty cool.

JRH I got a quick question for you...
do I have to use the bullet connectors you sent with the esc's I bought or can I just solder wires right into the esc's motor connections??...I dont really have room for the extra height the bullets would cause...
thanks

When are we going to be able to change the throttle curves on these?
I really don't like the stock the linear throttle cure that's on this thing.

Also, fyi for those looking to run 3s or more voltage to these things, the internal BEC is not enough for your 300-400oz servos. I've noticed a big decrease in power on my scalers, even my 1.9, and my berg running 4s and a Hitec 7950TH won't even steer when there is a good load on the servo. The big servo's still need the power of the 10amp CC BEC versus the 5amp internal BEC on these.

thats a bit disappointing to hear...are you running dual esc's or one? and do you think two esc's might work better at giving power to the steering servo or is it gonna be same ....same..?
guess I should be looking at running my CC BEC after all?
