I loved my old CJ5 but a CJ7 is much better. I will probably pick up an older jeep when I get down south.

As a dd it would have to be the 4.0 like Neil said. I do like the yj's though.
what would your recommendation be for a Daily Driver/mild Off Road project be?

if you aint ashamed of some character... you might even be able to talk him down.

1987 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER

ive seen it a few times parked in my area. rusty but cool.

old landcruisers rule but they are expensive... some of the late 90's ones had electronic locking diffs. i was wanting one and looked for a loooong time before the 4rnr popped up on craigslist and i couldnt pass on it.

Jason, (or anyone else that might have one that is going this sunday)

You mentioned you wanted to get a new sct body. Can I borrow your junky body to see if I can make a sct body fit my stampede?

You should see some of the cars I've had!

One of my all time favorite's was an 81 Mercedes 240D... I loved the hell out of that car but had to get rid of it when the kids moved in because the frame was seriously rotted.

I just want a 2nd vehicle for snow days (although the WRX is awesome in the snow), hauling anything from greasy parts to wet dogs and will make it to and up the Cliff's.

i was wrong, its been awhile since i was into them but its like 93-97 fjz80 landcruisers that had the selectable front and rear locking diffs. VERY nice trucks if you maintain them. been thinking lately of maybe selling the 4rnr and looking for a landcruiser again.

rick i most likely wont be joining you dudes sat or sun, i'm thinking of maybe just chilling out at home or maybe driving down to champaign with liz.

im going to go ahead and order another body probably today, when i get it you can have my old one.

edit - hard to tell but it looks like this one has the selectable lockers. there is a rotary dial to the left of the steering column.
http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/cto/3147590302.html

pretty decent price if the truck isnt thrashed. looks nice...

I don't know... I haven't done any work to mine except get it running.
If I get some time to work on it a little, I'll go... but right now I'm thinking I will not be going.

It'd be nice to have a body and wheels on it!

Oh minor problems! Don't have another body, well I do, but the second one is an SC10 I haven't gotten to fit the Slash yet.

As for tires, I think I have a set of the standard stock tire/wheels. If the clay track tires come in, you could also run my SC trenchers too.

I have one, still working on it. It s a real bitch to work inside of it, but, it is VERY solid. Looks to be able to take a beating. Some things I am doing or have done:

Castle SCT 3800Kv
Savox S-1268TG
Pro-Line Slash Powerstroke shocks
Freqe Skinz green true flames
3mm slices of Fuel tubing on each end of all 4 dog ones
Associated Orange "O" rings on each end of the drive shafts
Modify passengers side tubing to allow better access to the battery compartment

That's what I have so far. Need to change the Sidewinder settings and drop a couple teeth on my pinion, then I think I will be good to go.

(EDIT) I also want to get some badlands for bashing if they make them in 2.2 3.0

I loved the 70s and 80s land cruisers. There used to be a lot of FJs with Chevy 350 conversions.
