Looking good Kevan. Those links really must be huge after seeing them mounted on the frame. Once you power this beast up, it's either going to go like mad or explode (hopefully the former!). Either way, should be impressive !

Very nice work. Where did you get those rod ends? And what size are they?

hey cruiserkb, this build is really starting to come together nicely! but i was wondering what your doing for the drive axles?(inside the axle housing) im using the emaxx shafts on project "big time" and they almost snap instantly on full throttle. i evan tried to splice two female sides together, that was a little stonger but they still snap. since our rigs are simiulare in size, weight, and design, i just wanted to know what your thoughts are? thanks, Danny.

As for now I have a set of long MIP shafts in there. I am probably going to machine some custom shafts further down the line. Plan to make them solid since they don't need to telescope any since the axle housing is solid. I am sure I will have alot of testing to do to get the rite combination. I will keep updating as things progress!

Thanks again for all of the comments! I think it is awesome that there seems to be a growing interest in the larger rigs. I know the suppers seemed to die off some. Hopefully with all of the larger builds going on there might be some improvement in the parts available for us. I still like the fact that most of it has to be hand made though. It also allows for some unique rigs. I can see the line between true dessert racing and rock racing beginning to fade away with the 1.1's. I hope that trend will follow into the larger builds. I plan on building a few more in this scale in the future. Keep them coming and post some build threads so we can inspire others! |

I found the heims on E-bay Motors through QS Components Search under 3/16 heims and they should be the only ones that come up. They are 10/32 thread and cost $2.75 ea. Flat shipping of $8.10 covered all of the heims and you could add other items under same shipping. I went with all right hand threads since the left hand tap would have cost me $25. Maybe in the future! Hope this helps!

wow 10/32 I thought they were smaller. I found a bunch for my build but decided against them I did left hand, but it was only a few bucks. I have a place called Olander, great for small stuff, screws, bits, end mills they are really nice looking heims |

Do you have a website for them? I still need alot of hardware for this and my other rigs. Would be nice if I could order it all from one place.
