I think the front bumper needs some attention. It sticks out way too far for my liking... So I think I'll work on it a bit with my Bowie knife.

Almost there...

It'd be a shame to leave this behind...

Hmmmm - what to do, what to do...

Well, today turned out being "make a mondo heavy bumper day" instead of bumper and front stinger day...
It's got to be made from steel and somehow make it rock solid when it mounts to the aluminum frame rails. It's also got to be able to withstand some punishment as the front bumper/stinger will be welded to it.

Broke out the welder and fabricated boxes to fit over the frame rails - they fit nice and tight.

Almost too tight...

Now one for the other side.

Now to add the front piece...

There - all welded together...

And... Voila ! Mondo heavy front bumper !!!

Tomorrow I'll work on the front stinger.

Tapped some holes in the metal bumper and the frame and then run a screw through it to hold it in place.

Now to seat the screw. Went with an M3 but could easily go to an M4 if need be...

Default Behind Enemy Lines

Had to do a poser shot for the weekend... found some cool planks for crossing deep chasms ( Thanks Ikaika/Crawl Space!) still trying to decide where to put them but back of the roll bar seems good for now.

Still waiting to hear about a winch & fairlead from Tzi... also just waiting for my THE light controller to arrive so that I can start mocking up the lighting on the rig...

Welded a metal plate on the bumper... wonder what that is for ???

Added a short extension to the guard to allow a rope to be quickly hooked onto it for towing reasons...
