try and handle this truck on 3s at a true tenth scale track. that would be a sight to watch.

I know right? this truck on 2s is plenty enough on a true 10ft wide track.

3s??? 8th scale track? it looks tiny. and takes forever to get around.

keep in mind. no AVC allowed.

How does look tiny and takes for ever to get around go together?? .... And by no avc I take that as replacing the whole receiver, at least that's what I did. That whole disabling stuff still has it activated. New receiver and transmitter non avc. My next move might (still contemplating) make it 2wd true TT spec, with aluminum cage 2 spares out back... Easier said than done but that's why the call it a hobby.. Gives me something to look forward to.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying your trucks on 2s. Seemed way too slow for me. I immediately went with 3s and 10t pinion. This combo puts the truck at around 40mph. I come from 1/8 buggy background so this set up feels more like home to me. And yes I've practiced on 1/8 buggy track and it works great! This truck is slightly longer than a 1/8 buggy and is roughly the same width. So not sure how this looks tiny on a 1/8 track. There are plenty of guys using 3s on a track on YouTube. Works great. You guys need to keep in mind your opinions aren't the gospel and you don't need to convert anyone. This hobby can be enjoyed many ways. Until there are classes for this truck there are no rules. Now, go have fun with your Rc any way you want. And I'll do the same. Peace out Rc bros!

I run 4s in a 1/8 scale buggy and sct. 2s in comparison is just boring for me to drive. I don't run less than 3s in my crawler and U4. I think 3s would be perfect for this ride

Hello, fellas! Glad you guys are satisfied with your purchases! I'm itchin' for a new toy. I have a Wraith—like it so much I want a slightly different Wraith. So, the Bomber is very attractive. Both rigs will receive brushless set-ups eventually because I want more torque at the bottom and just a lil more speed at the top. Maybe the brushless, IFS, rear solid-axle is a better choice (since it will be a while before I am "allowed" a third RC *whip-crack*). I'm strictly a loan-wolf, off-road, rock-racer, rock-bash, trailing, crawler enthusiast so far. The Yeti RTR's, 3s-powered top speed is plenty for myself. Reading all your posts everyone seems impressed and very happy with the Baja Rey. Is the Rey a rock racer, too? Or does the Yeti still own that territory comparatively? For a non-comp, 4X4, rock-racer, slight crawler—is the Yeti a better choice over the Rey? That third RC is looking like a far off dream... gotta make the second one count! I am cleared for upgrades though! Slow-Poke RR10, Belly-Slap Sasquatch or the Whip-Fast Rey?

The Baja Rey is not a Rock Racer. It is a trophy truck. It's designed for high speed on loose terrain. If Rock Racing is what your looking for go for the bomber, I've heard it's great! The Baja Rey is a great truck but it wouldn't be a good choice for rock crawling with its small tires and center diff. Hope this helps bro.

Thought I would share my Baja Rey.
SCTE mud flaps, number plates, associated KMC wheels.

4x4 sct is 2s only. with most guys using 4300 or 4600 pro 4 non hd tekins.

3800 on 3s is just stupid in this truck. literally.

perfect motor for 3s would be a 2600. im seasoned. I know what the fawk is gospel and what is not.

you guys go ahead and keep breakin your trucks. ill keep racing mine.

Very generalized here. Everybody does not run 2s. The 4300 is the HD motor, maybe you only meant the 4600 was non HD? The perfect motor for you would be a 2600, not for me unless it was 4s. It really doesn't matter what motor you use, the truck will only go as fast as you make it go. You hold the trigger.

okay so let me say or "edit"

4x4 sct is 2s only (while racing)

this trucks front end darts when you steer hard. put 3s in it and actually push it at the track. youll need to be marshaled a few more times than needed.

my bad on the hd part. there is a tekin 4300 non hd but its not a pro 4. sct something.. ive got one. its a 2 pole motor. kinda old.

It really doesn't matter what it used. You'll most likely gear it for the same top speed anyway. 2s, 3s or 4s geared for 40-45 is still only 40-45 your really only changing where the power "hits". My Tekno is faster on 2s then my Rey on 3s, just because you volt up doesn't mean you are going to go too fast. That makes no sense. A lot of places allow you to run 3s as long as it's not a sanctioned race, and lets be real, this truck will not compete with Losi's or Teckno's, no way, not ever nor is it supposed to. With the stock electronics in the Rey 2s wasn't enough for me. Had no oomph so I went with the 10t pinion and 3s wich made it better. As soon as that craps out I'll probably put a RX8 gen 2 with a Holmes 3500xl, that way I can still run 3s and save some batteries and that motor has been great in a bunch of others I run.

how does one qualify 5th with a losi rey out of 10 trucks (TLR, TECKNO, AE, TRAXXAS) at stateline rc in the series just this past Saturday?

and im talking about sanctioned races here...

don't knock it till you actually try it.

I'm not knocking it at all. I think it's great but I'm also realistic and understand what it is. Congrats on 5th. You're halfway to the top.
