Oh yeah I would for sure if you're running leafs...at least to the rear. I learned this one the hard way on my C1 chevy by bending my first set of leafs. Remember the track bar I made for it?

Okay I just spent about 4 hours putting the transmission together. It was pretty complicated, gonna have to save the instructions on this rig for sure. I'm going to need them if I ever pull it apart. One nice thing is that the kit included an entire set of extra plastic gears...well the two or three that were in it anyway.

Here are some shots of the process.

I purchase the hop-up slipper gear and it replaced this plastic piece.

Close her up!

And mounted it in the chassis.

That thing is a beauty! Those pictures make it all look good.. I'd hate to see it get dirty.

Looks like fun building that thing.

Yeah man! It's really cool...and kinda retro at the same time! Can't wait to get it running! This might be my new GTG rig, when we're not counting points.

Default JHTreyIII's Bruiser Build

Got the electronics box mounted up.

The shifting and steering servos are accessed from underneath.

Of course there's a cover for them. I went ahead and used the supplied servo saver on the transmission servo because the gears have to be aligned correctly for them to shift. This should allow them to find that position without too much force applied by the HD servo.

One thing that I read is that there's too much slop in the steering with the stock setup. I can see that. The rod flexes along with quite a bit of mechanism...I'll have to figure out a front chassis mount for that servo eventually.

Dude.. you suck. I'm totally diggin' this thing because of you. I never knew they were this cool.

Can you post a picture of it next to your C1 chevy pickup? I'm curious to see what the size difference is.

Ha, not at all! I asked! I like how you've painted all the silver pieces. It looks a lot more realistic! I see you got the beadlock version wheels too, that's cool. I really want a set of the aluminum ones from RC4WD. I've just spent enough on this rig in the last couple weeks so I'm going to hold off for a little while.
