Shock oil and springs are a big part in eliminating torque twist. I run 35wt oil in the left rear shock, and 20 wt in the right rear. Both rear shocks run Traxxas Stampede front springs. I run 10wt oil in both front shocks with Losi white buggy springs. How are your upper links mounted, parallel to lowers or flat?

Sounds like you have Jato driveshafts. Most drill the axle pinion's shaft to run a screw all the way through the yoke. You'll have to mod the Maxx yokes too, if you use those.

great pictures brad, I have a question . I bought the metal output yokes (4 of them for diffs and trans) and shaved the shoulder down for the diffs, but do I do the same for the trans. and when securing then do you just use the set screws or something different.

Thanks Frank

I've never used the metal yokes myself, but I'd try to use a screw that passes throught the axles pinion shafts. That will prevent the yokes from popping off in binds.

I read the Feb. article in rcca on how to build a rock crawler. I'm using the sw2 chassis ,I used the article for the parts list. on the stampede trans do you swap out the stock spur gear for an 84t ??

Thanks Frank

You don't have to swap to the 84t spur, I did just to try and gain a little more wheelspeed.

I buy mine at the local hobby shop, I'm not sure who carries them online. They do fit the Maxx shocks, but the I.D. on them is a little smaller, they still snap over the lower spring cups though. They are shorter, so threaded shock bodies are nice.

Welcome to the site.

Here's a good place to start if building a TLT, which is a great rig to start with.
FAQ: TLT-1 to TLT-Crawler ***NEWBIES READ!!!***

If you want a full on rock crawler, then it will require mods and a little cash. This site is full of great info and build threads too.

I've never added it up, but I'll guess $500-$600. If you can fab some parts yourself it can be done cheaper.
