50/50 or 60/40

Thanks for the input
I've pretty much always run a 50/50 link set-up. It depends on the terrain you run on too. Steep climbs are probably a little easier with a 60/40 set-up. If you're running in bowling ball sized rocks, 50/50 will probably work better.

Bender, I'm ordering the black chassis off the crawler store tonight (to get the deal on the wheel wideners). I'm using my old factory team turnbuckles off my MGT and I've got a pede tranny. The lower links measure 154mm and the upper links measure 128mm, I think this will give me a wheelbase of 14 inches. Does your chassis work well at this wheelbase? What driveshafts can I use? I'm also using the old Integy piggyback shocks off the MGT (terrible shocks for the MGT hope they work well on the TLT). I put the weakest spring on that I had and it still seems to stiff, do you have any suggestions?

My chassis works great at 14", because of the extra upper shock mount holes. I'd go with 2.5 Maxx shafts for that wheelbase, there's a link to the install in the first post of this thread. Losi white buggy springs in the front and Stampede front springs in the rear have worked great for me. If you lay the shocks back a little more it'll help soften them up too.

I just went to the crawler store site and EVERYTHING is out of stock. Do you know when there will be stock? I want that black chassis, and I need the spacers . I've got 2.2 moabs on HPI Super Stars and they hit at full turn. Do you know if the G-made wideners will be enough to fix that problem?

I'm working on the next round of chassis' now. The long weekend is going to push me back a little. I should have some ready next week. The G-made wideners should give you enough width to clear the lower links.

There's a pic here. I just use a short tie rod going from knuckle to axle.

Hey, Bender
I noticed you have changed your lower links from the maxx turnbuckes. Where can we get those?

I'm running Delrin lower links now, I also ran titanium Traxxas lower links for a while too. I've made a few sets of Delrin lower links for people, if you're interested shoot me a PM.

hey bender i was going to use a brushless set up on my tlt. but i need your help if you can please

i sow that on that site where you got the bushless set up the motor was saying it had 930kv or something like that. and your using a 7.2 volt battery so you are putting out 6696rpms. will my question was i was at work today (hobbypeople) and i sow the hacker motors (plane motors) and one of them puts out about the same amount of kv. do you think it would do about the same job as yours is doing? im asking this cause i dont konw if the way holmes hobbies made there motors. here is a link to the motor i was going to use. http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/190250.asp (reason for using it i get it for cheap lol)

so do you think this would work.

thanks
drk.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm still fairly new to brushless myself. The combo I have was suggested by Holmes Hobbies, shoot John a PM he can give you better info then me.

I have sort of the same setup and i what like to know how do you keep the rig balanced while crawling . What I mean is whenever I make steep climbs or at a weird angle my truck wants to lean to one side. The same side as the motor and transmission is heaviest at to be exact..Someone told to adjust shocks on just that side to compensate, but i figured ther's got to be a better way!
