so i got my frsky module wired up in my radio, so i'll be doing the maiden voyage with a frsky micro rx, yep thats right micro. Check out how small it is compared to a flysky rx, which people say is really small.

Alright, its all together...just got to turn the radio on, center up the servos, and screw on linkages...then set epa's for dig.

But here's some preliminary pics...I also have a roof panel and hood somewhere, but i can't find them at the moment.

Oh, and before i run it too much i need to shorten all my battery leads really short...i think my deans setup ought to work real nice

There's some electrical issues, so it may be another week or so before i can start thorough diagnosing.

17.5 credit hours of class at a high ranked engineering school and trying todo stuff besides homework and studying is nearly impossible.

For whom it may concern, my losi weighs 4lb 9.9oz rtr That'll drop significantly over the year. My motor is still due for atleast an oz drop in weight, about 50% of the screws are still steel, so those will be swapped to alum, I've got some more delrin parts that will be turned into carbon fiber, shave down the skid, sand all the sidewalls on my tires, ti hulk axes in the rear, lighter chassis spacers Should get down to sub 4...or really close

I've also got a good chunk of knuckle weight and rear axle weights....i'd probably be at 4lbs if i took it all off

yeah, don't run knuckle or rear axle weight. the front plate has enough crap on it to account for lighter wheels for me. have you given it a go without the front knuckle weights and rear weight? your front plate is built lighter than mine (although the new one is pretty light) and you have lighter electronics as well, but it may all work out well if you ditch the weights. that, and shaving your tires would help on weight, the sedonas are very noticeable compare to stock when shaved. just gotta find a place to do them. you can also weight tune the tires front and rear with shaving.

if you're going to go light, do it up. you can get a ton of front bias just relocating everything you can. saying it would be 4lbs and it being 4lbs are two very different things

I've already cut about 75% of the weight off the front axle i originally wanted to run, now i'm down to just the main weights to get a weight bias i like. If there is no weight on the rear end, down hill stability goes to shit...i experimented with it quite abit on the old delrin phoenix. One of the first weight things i'm going to work on is my axle tray...it'll be twice as light and move all my electronics down 3/32" of an inch.

Is it a bad thing that i have an exam here in 20 minutes and i've been working on my losi for the past two hours?

i guess i'm not getting the downhill losses that you're seeing with no added weight on the rear axle, but i'm also still running the modded eritex's at the moment. my front bias with equally weighted wheels is still very close to 60/40.

and with your new front plate, give the front fin a try, i'm personally digging it. smoothed up the front end bind i would get while jammed up, and it wasn't bad to make it happen. do recommend an actual mill for the lower plate, but the rest i did with a dremel and belt sander.

as far as the test, you're either confident you're going to bend it over and make it your bitch, or the other way around. i'd be test firing markers 5 mins before a test still, i see nothing wrong with the way you're running things.

Have you tried abit of weight in the rear?

I probably won't give the front fin a try any time soon...my front plate will be CF

on the v1 i had my electronics mounted back there. i liked how it drove, but it always felt ass heavy. as far as the production, the eritex wheels with shaved sedonas weigh in at 6.5oz rear, 7.4oz front. i haven't seen a huge problem without weight in the rear honestly, i don't know if its a heavy enough wheel and tire, or if i'm just used to it.

WOW!!! Whatta badass build man. I miss my LCC & seriously considered grabbing another one for my sporty build but I had a decent collection of AX swag already.

Keep up the good work man. Truly a SICK Comp Crawler

Got a new tie rod from lusford...now my wheels don't have a funny toe...but i don't have the stuff to make a short drag link, so i just went to the other side with the old ti link...

I'll get a short drag link on it soon.

That's looking really good, since your making this super light, you probably already know this, but there is a ton of weight in your tires you can loose! Narrow those bad boys 3/16, then get that drum sander on that dremmel and sand the exterior sidewalls, turn them inside out and sand all the ribbing off, then finally sand a layer of the entire carcus off! You should be able to get them down to between 80-85 grams each. I bet the are currently about 110grams a peice. So that's a weight loss of almost 1oz per tire!!!

They arn't getting any narrowor, and yes i plan to shave them in the future...still not quite sure how i'm going to loose almost a pound to catch up with alexus though. I think i can get to just under 4, w/out sacraficing strength anywhere.
