Looks good, beefy but good. I do feel the need to point out that if you machine these you will not get the sharp corner in the tear drop that you have drawn up. Unless you have access to a wire EDM machine, when the rim get machined there will be a radius left from the end mill. Its good to keep that in mind when you work on your designs |

they dont teach you that part in class. Learned that the hard way when my friends dad taught me a lesson about machining I wish they gave us a machining class to take at school so we could learn how to design parts properly.

Solidworks is an amazing program. I was able to find many problems with my build before some of my parts even arrived. If you want files to play with just let us know. We will give them to you real cheap.....j/k. We all have about anything you need.

Took too long of a nap when I got home so now I can't sleep. So I did a quick and dirty R2 Tranny for yall. Again just send me a PM if you want the files. There are no gears inside. and the motor placement is not exact. |

You reminded me that I did have a rough Stealth Trans modeled up. The mounting points and motor placement are all right, but it also doesn't have internals. http://download.yousendit.com/ADC136960EAC70D7 | |

You shouldn't have to register to send small files. If so, then email it to me at sponjican@oreck.com though, and I'll upload it. No problem.

I have done some work in Solidworks but have not been able to turn out some of the stuff you guys have. Is there a list of all the parts that have been done up till now. It would be hand to have them all in one spot. By the way has anyone do a emaxx or pede tranny?

Solidworks is very easy to use. Here is a list of parts available in thus thread as far as I can recall so far: Solidworks Pede Tranny - Me TLT Axles - Can't find who did them but they are absolutely B-E-A-utiful Stealth Tranny - Sammyxp R2 Tranny - Me K2-3L Chassis - Me Revolver Wheels - Turboduck Moab XL's - Kamikaze Moab 2.2's - Turboduck Many Misc Stock TLT Parts (such as brackets) - Me AutoCad Tlt Axles - Me Masher 2k - Nickrummy tekin rebel 2 - Nickrummy 2215 receiver - Nickrummy hpi split 5 wheel - Nickrummy traxxas wheel - Nickrummy clod axles - Nickrummy servos - Nickrummy mgt shock and spring - Nickrummy maxx shock and spring - Nickrummy traxxas rod ends - Nickrummy C-cell battery - Nickrummy AA cell batter - Nickrummy Lathe motor (not fully detailed but for approx sizing) - Nickrummy Deans connector - Nickrummy There are plenty of parts in this thread that I have not listed, I have noticed there are ALOT of clod parts on here too, I for one don't know what they are since I have never ran one but they are on here for your searching pleasure. Very sorry if I got anything wrong on here, no harm intended. There are many other custom things on here too, such as chassis and other parts. But this is just a list of the mostly reusable parts (in my opinion) feel free to correct me on what is on here and I will up date it for everyone. I, and alot of the other guys on here enjoy making parts. I mostly just run out of ideas of things to do, so if you ever need anything I am always happy to help with anything. I have both autocad and solidworks. Last edited by Harley; 12-15-2006 at 08:27 AM. |

I have done a lot of design work and CNC work all with Autocad 2006. Is there anyway to inport a solidworks drawing into Autocad. I used to do letters for a sign maker and he used a strange software package that I was able to import his work into Autocad and from there was able to render my g-code.

Just about any 3D modeling package can export to DXF/DSG for AutoCad. You need to know what sort of bodies you can export, though. I've never been able to export any actual 3D geometry to/from AutoCad. Just planar wireframe.

I will boot up solidworks and check for ya, I have exported alot of my 3D autocad work to solidworks with out any problem. Solidworks has a lot of capabilities as far as exporting goes. xjman yes someone did do a Moab carcass on its own. I believe he just took the screen shot with the rim. He did e-mail it to me so I have it. He said it isn't perfect but I don't have a Moab to check against it. |

TO EVERYONE: I have started an account with www.Xdrive.com this is an online storage system. It will allow all of us to pile the files into a folder where they are very easy to get to. I am asking everyone to respect this, this could be an awesome resource for those of us who take this seriously. I will personally load all of the files that I have created on there. I hope everyone takes full use of this and also helps to contribute. I am unsure as if I should publicly post the password and user name or not. So I will hold off for now. Please PM me for the info. The storage space is up to 5gb so we should be able to put TONS of stuff in there. I will try and put files in there in as many usable formats as possible. I know this has been talked about for awhile and I hope it takes off. I will upload everything I have, If anyone does not want me to distribute their work let me know and I will remove it ASAP. PM ME FOR LOG-IN Thanks for reading Josh Thiede Last edited by Harley; 12-15-2006 at 08:35 AM. |
