That is awesome. Can it be sized down to the 2.2 size or would that be like "re-inventing the wheel".

No I would need to measure an actual tire and rim combo to make a 3-d model. I'm gona put those side lugs on there someday.

Here is what I have at work

Clod Axle
Maxx shock
Conduit washers for beadlock mod (with my hole pattern drawn in for 2-56 hardware)
HPI split 5 wheel
servo
Traxxas front wheel narrowed with conduit washer beadlocks and hardware

I just need emails
Hi Nick,

Would you mind sending me a few? I'd love to see how they open in Max and toy with them.

Thanks!

Ok, so I had about 30 minutes to play with Solidworks today. I figured I would start with a rim because.. hey they are easier. Soon I should be better at this.

I don't have access to Solidworks, Inventor or any 3D Modeling program. So, I'm looking for affordable 3D Modeling software... Has anyone used RHINO 3.0? Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks for your help...

Are you talking about the model that I drew? If so I use Solidworks. I have never used sketchup, but I have herd good things about it (at least for simple models).

It was easy for me to learn the basics. But getting to know what the errors mean, and generally how Solidworks behaves took a little longer. I don't know it that helps.

Also here is a screenshot of the tutorials included with Solidworks

Anyone still doing any modeling? I've been out of it for a while. Sold the crawler a while back and messed around with onroad nitro. That got boring and now i'm back to slowness.

Anyways, I've been working on designing up a straight axle that will use stock emaxx parts like CVD's, locked spool, bearings and gears. I have all the stock stuff drawn so far. These are stock maxx diff halves too but my axles will be out of aluminum. I haven't got to making the axle tubes yet. I'm thinking about using an offset diff setup. Do you think this would help with torque twist? It would make for different size CVD's obviously but I'm thinking I could use a center shaft CVD from a maxx.

for any machinests out there. What is a standard thickness or aluminum if the outter diameter is around 1"? Do they make tubing that has a 1" outter diameter and a 1/2" inner diameter? (1/4" wall)

Here are a few images of the stock parts i'm working with.

This is the look I'm hoping to accomplish.

Here is an exploded view. I didn't have the CVD's finished yet. They are completed now though.

Stock assembled diff and CVDs

Nick, I was curious if you had a TLT axle I coudl import into solidworks. I've been goofing around with making a decent shock, but my solidworks is jacked and the fastener tool doesnt work so I cant see how they will really work, they just blow apart.

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to get my hands on a set of TLT axles. I'd like to. Sloppy was going to be kind enough to let me borrow his TLT crawler to dimension but he needed it for the weekend. Possibly in the next few weeks I might have the chance.
