I'll let it run out another week, then hold a vote and crown a winner. Only three entries so far...pretty disappointing.

I probably won't get around to actually making my entry for some time. Too many other projects that have a higher priority. Here is what I was planning though. Best I can figure is you only need (3) 118* drills and (2) cone fixtures for sides 5 and 6. I made a 1/4" square proto already by eye on the drill press and it came out pretty good so it just might be possible on a larger scale... |

You need to find time to make that at some point. Very cool looking.

Another entry in! Either Sunday night or Monday morning I will start a voting thread for what we've got. Most likely it will be Sunday night. Winner will be announced Wednesday, and a new challenge handed out if people are still interested. I may have to get together with Bob and come up with an idea. And yes, those who want to participate will have more than a week to do it. |

| Re: The RCC Hobby Machinists Challenge I have now idea what the cute little flower thing on the camera does but I tried it. The pic is so clear it shows that my entry is a deburring nightmare. Chris if I win your going to get an awkward feeling hug from me.

Just a thought. Some people may be waiting for the first round to be completed before jumping in. Wanting to see the skill level needed. The core machinists here have some serious skills. I'm a drill press, buzz box, vise and Dremel kind of guy, looking forward trying some of your challenges of course trying those I have enough skill and tools to attempt. sgl |

I looked at the thread as a way to push myself into trying something a bit harder and something new. The comment was just to say there may be others like me that are looking forward the challenges even from the sidelines so to speak. All in all I think the challenge is a great idea. Thanks for the input. sgl |
