Thanks! I may have to save up as check or two..... but I had been thinking about it since Matt's Video, where he used it on the Honcho...

Hey...... am I the LAST one to find out that Axial is BRINGING BACK the Deadbolt!!??
At the SAME Price??? Damn, that might actually be obtainable someday for me.

yeah i was at hobby lobby (my son needed a 1:64 scale wrecker for his hot wheels and they had one there from greenlight), and i walked by the marker section, and it was like i heard "QUE THE INTRO!" in my head and i looked for the chrome pen lol
a bit pricey but i think it should last a good long while (unless i keep it in my trail pack for the abuse i see the bumper taking).

and yes, my in-laws have what i like to call "RC HEAVEN" for a backyard haha even the guy who built the waterfall was like "oh man can i come back with my RC truck to crawl this?"
i took a bunch of pics i forgot to post last night, and you can see my father in law's yeti in the background of one.
and i found a wicked line that crosses the falls... and the ford was able to do it!!! (wish i got vid but it was a pucker moment, only got before and after pics). then i coached my son across with his barrage!
great day of family and backyard crawling. Rick (my father in law, and yes he needs an account here) cant wait to go to proline by the fire!

now excuse me while i hit F5 on the UPS tracking site all day... ;)

**my RC Nerds shipment just hit my post office!!! *DROOOOOOOOL*

nice! i have a neighbor with one like that, C notched and bags. different from the norm here but cool anyway.

that's a 68 i believe. more like vaterra's V100 body.

* found it! i forgot who it was but its mgputer who has successfully build that v100 body into a crawler! http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/vater...r-build-3.html

Ah, triple-wide whites.... I put a set on my old Honda Shadow to wake up it's rather mundane styling (mini-thread-jack, sorry Shinchu!):

Wait... wow there are no scale whitewall tires?!?!
Somebody needs to get on that...
I dont have any builds that would benefit, but im sure a lot of people would put them to use.

Anywho, more from yesterdays crawl at san marcos in laws...

The gnarly waterfall crossing... pucker factor was insane due to rx not waterproof!

Cleared!

Just a cool shot with the Palomar college "P" on the right, frys electronics on the left... oh and some truck lol

***HUZZAAAAH!!!!!!!

**Getting right to it with good ol tamiya primer, 600, 1500 grit 3M!

Lmao brother i literally just typed "bronco grill" hahaha

Molotow pen is just... it should be called moloWOW!
tried it on the bumper and, well its BRIGHT!
I dont want to show it just yet, still figuring out how to get it even coat without streaks from the tip.
And it takes forever to dry...

Very neat product though! Now i know why imthatguy likes them so much!

Have you started on cutting the body to fit the grill yet?

I find that to be the most challenging part of installing parts like that. Maybe because I'm not too good with the xacto blade method of cutting lexan.

Not yet, and yes that part is terrifying. I will get close with an exacto, but likely detail shapes with a dremel sanding drum bit. Did that on the lexan rear bumper with much success.

Not much updates for the next couple days, gents. Going on a family staycation for a bit. (but yes the rigs are coming with us )

See you this weekend...

It’s a sharp looking grill. The details are coming together great on your build!

Every time I look at your thread it makes me want to build a 70s Ford like my Dad had. Ours was a 1977 blue 4x4 . I always wanted it for my first truck but due to having 7 of us he sold it to get a Aerostar van. Looked like this one but it wasn't a short box and he had 33" mud tires on it. My favorite memory of it was a big snow storm in like 88 and we were on our way deer hunting and he was plowing through drifts as high as the hood. There was a bunch of people stuck in the road with their trucks and a tractor stuck in the road that was trying to pull the trucks out. We stopped to see if they needed any help and said no but we should turn around as we would not make it. My old man dumped the clutch in 3rd and away we went down the road through the snow never getting stuck or even slowing down the old Ford. Ah the good ol days.
