You have a great memory for detail. It’s a shame manufacturing has lost these mechanical details in the modern day. I used mine constantly.

maybe a strip of styrene for a frame? or more lexan would work too.

but yes, totally fixable.

(i have put some thought into this and intend to put these on my truck soon as they are an important part of the tribute build. one of my pop's favorite features, he liked the fact you could aim them down your shorts lol)
Well I wasn't going to fix it but since someone noticed I guess I better. I'm going to try tonight to see if I can get it fixed.

I might even put it in opened at the crotch cooler position!

Feeling nice and cool.

I cut it out and then cut another piece for the wing then glued it on. I'm going to have to clean it up a little but it's on there

Sounds easy enough. Is that a line of paint on the edge of the wing? I can’t tell, but it looks like the vertical support piece is represented

That's a piece of plastic. They had a bar between the two panes of glass. The wing window is open about 45 degrees

Great detail. It’s an idea I am compelled to copy. I have a feeling if I don’t it will haunt me.

So due to the conundrum I find myself in my plan has changed. My son took my Ascender away from me and I had already acquired a body but he doesn't like it. So now I might put the f100 body on the shelf and build the bronco for myself. Decisions decisions.

So I set my wb at wb4 and I'm getting binding between the pan hard and the servo horn. Evidently it doesn't like the big aluminum servo horn. I guess the only option is to lengthen the rear and shorten the front links to pull it back. From what I can tell I have it set up correctly.

Getting closer on the fitment. I have the wb at exactly 12.3. I'm off a little bit but the mounts are almost identical to the body holes.

I have everything set up to run a 3 link rear but I need to fab the mount for the frame.

Too bad your body is a little warped or something, but it looks awesome on your Ascender , wheels work with the looks too! WB1 and WB2 works with large clamp on Servo horn at least when servo is mounted on top of mounts, otherwise not much room and non-clamping horn is required. I’ve had good luck with Hudy reverse offset machined aluminum horns.

The body is set back a little. I am still fine tuning everything. The body is not what I expected so it could be warped. Was beat up pretty bad and I buffed most of the big scratches out. I haven't decided yet what exactly I'm going to do. I just sit and look at it. Getting ideas.

Topless?

Got more closer to the ideal set up. A little tweaking and I used the k5 rear mount to mount the body. I had to make a modification to the front body posts to move the body back a little bit. Now I have to finish buffing out the scratches.

Busy weekend, i missed a lot of progress!
Window wings look great!!! Bonus points for actually opening them!

Bronco is looking nice too! Dont worry about scratches, i make fun of pristine trucks ;)

Oh and for the servo, not sure if its still a prob, but maybe turn it sideways?

I got the servo problem figured out. Now that I got the body my son might run it. He says it's way cooler than he thought.

We had a busy weekend so I didn't get a lot accomplished.

Im not worried about the scratches but some were bad. It's pretty good now.
