I installed a Traxxas VXL brushless system in my rig earlier in the week for my trip to the snow. I also installed another stock 'waterproof' receiver because I knew the electronics would get wet from running in the snow, had no issues with playing with water this time. I wanted to try and get some nice pics so I had to drive with one have and shoot pics with my other, I did manage to get a few nice photos. Here's one of them as a teaser until I finish editing the rest. Hi-Res version |

Been contemplating putting the vxl system in mine. How did it perform?

The ESC fit without any trimming at all, had to install in at an angle to clear the stock mounting post on the ESC but it cleared everything in the Twin Hammers no problem.

What shocks are you using in the rear? Was going to try a set of rear Exo's or get a set of prolines Awesome picture, can't wait for the rest. |

I also installed the rear sway bar (softest of the 3) to help keep the rig under control at high speeds, that was a nice improvement.

I have the medium sway bar in. Might change it to the soft and see how it is. Not really crawling just racing around the farm. Thanks for the answer. |

| Re: Badger's Vaterra Twin Hammers 1.9 Rock Racer If I had the stock shocks installed I would more then likely be using the medium sway bar as well. I used the soft one because the stiffer spring rate in the slash rear springs, I didn't want to make it to stiff for crawling.

That makes since. I have the stock shocks in and they leak like a hose. Even after rebuilding them. Going to stop and pick up some shocks tomorrow and see how they do. Only running a Sv3 and the new HH13t on stock pinion and its so much fun on 3s |

I see you put the gear head hammer five spokes on there. I was contemplating this combo due to weight savings. How do you like it?

So far so good. I didn't notice any loss in performance or handling with the little bit of added weight the delrin wheels with aluminum hubs have over the stock plastic wheels. I really like the look of them.

I'm running the HH BRXL on 3s with his expert model motor at 13t. It's amazing tons of torque and the top end is better the the stock motor with the same combo. It's also very controllable on the low end for crawling. I really like the combo.

Still running the stock gearing? I swapped mine to 86/22 & it crawls so much better. Top speed is now about where I'd like.

Great pics Badger !! On another note seems my tranny let go in my TH, havent had it apart yet but guessing its the idler gear ? Bareing in mind its grossly over powered and I deleted the slipper in favor of 32pitch gearing and let a buddy drive it whom isnt exactly smooth with his throttle finger. Great Pics! On the VXL, did you try to the 50% rate on the ESC for crawling? Or does it cut power too much? Tks for all of your help with the TH!
