I think it would be too thick and visible. Not sure, though...

Is the plan still to be class 1? If so what are you going to do about the tires sticking out too far?

I've got a couple ideas to address that. The preferred option is to source some narrower axles that will reduce the track width. However, time is too short 'til Nationals to do that so I've got some RC4WD flares I'm going to hot-glue into place for now. They should be easily removed later without damaging the paint.

Another option I may consider is to get a wheel that will provide a narrower track width. Easy to do with 1.9's, not so much with 1.55's. Plus I really think the style of these wheels is perfect for this truck and I'd hate to remove them.

Some updates. This thing may get finished after all! Slapped together a simple interior. Twin sticks, of course!

Rear bumper is done.

Not crazy about the lines on the corner protection, but it'll suffice for now.

Interior and glass installed.

Winch fairlead mount and bumper painted to match the rear bumper.

As it sits now. Rock sliders are in the works now...

Man, that thar sure is purdy. It'll be a shame to scratch it up.

You did an excellent job! How many coats of clear are on it?

Thanks, Dean! I'll try to keep it from getting too abused, but there's no stopping the inevitable.

After I sprayed it, I initially just rattle-canned some clear lacquer over it (Testors) with about 3-4 coats. It looked pretty good, but after I put the stickers on it, HotRodJosh convinced me to clear over all of it. I just bought a "real" paint gun for my hot rod project so this was a perfect time to try it out. The body received 4 coats of clear urethane. Now we'll see how well it holds up!

Thanks! I thought about lining the bed, but I really didn't want to mask off the whole truck. And I kinda like the bed like this. Not to mention, the body is a heavy pig now anyway. It definitely doesn't need any more weight added to it!

Got the sliders built and painted tonight. They're a little wider than I wanted, but not too bad. At least the extra width should do a better job of protecting the body! Here they are along with a couple nekkid pics.

And how 'bout a few more flex shots?

Now I need to get my LEDs ordered and the exterior will be done for Nationals. Then I think all I'll need to do is route some tubing for the winch line and it'll be finished. Good thing, too, 'cause I really need to get cracking on the Bronco!!

I hate to say it but it needs to lose 1/4" in height, maybe it's just the pictures
Also is that a model A in the background ? Those tires and tubes are a pain to put together

Your build looks great, my current 1:1 is an 81 yota pickup and I have a softspot for these sweet builds - Nice Work!
