Oh whoops sorry I meant yeti bars, since they're wider.

Hey guys, since the last time I've mounted up the new window nets and hot racing parts for the shocks. Only wanted to get one to make sure they fit. They do, so I'll be getting more for the front, then some black shock bodies for all 4.

I've been talking trash about the Yeti XL due to the weight that was added to the back of the new kit that is due to come out soon. I said that it would make a better SC truck than a rock racer. So to prove a point and because I also need the Yeti XL body for another build I'm doing I'm going to buy the kit and Build a SC truck using the SC8 body to do a custom build. It is also what I asked you to try but you declined. I will start a build on it when I get the kit in. I also have a DESERT RAT 1/5 PROLINE BODY that I can use.

Not enough custom work involved with that for him lol. But good luck with that, I'd love to try that. Can't wait to see how it comes out!

Why would adding weight to the back be a bad thing? Worked wondering on my truck. Or was it already back-heavy? They should of just made the XL into a TT, making a bigger yeti was kinda pointless IMO.

But like Sean said not enough custom work lol, plus I don't have extra cash to drop on a yeti. That's why I couldn't do it. But what are the wheelbases of SC8 body and the XL?

SC8 is 14.25 and the Yeti XL 18.5. I would need to cut the bodies (proline) up as panels. I don't see how a larger chassis is less work than a smaller one. Or how the build would be less complicated. But again I haven't started anything yet to say it is or isn't. Just in the planning stages. Kit isn't even out yet. 400.00 plus the parts I already have isn't bad for a 1/5 scale build.

I love how you factored how much work this build is going to take. So how long do you think this build should take? How much aluminum will it take to build the custom cage and how long should that be to fit custom panels to it? I'm just in the panning stages so any help is greatly appreciated.

Hmm that's quite a difference, almost 4 inches. The XL isn't even an 8th scale, more like a 7th or 6th actually. Like I said they should of just made it a trophy truck..

Thanks. Now I understand. So you're going to use the XL parts but make your own chassis. Before I thought you were just going to put on a body. For a cage that big I would say at the minimum 45-50ft. Mine uses a little under 30ft. You said you're gonna use aluminum?

Lol that was BJ that went past behind them. But I couldn't really understand what was happening. Looked sorta like a gas fire? Better in the pits then the middle of the dez with no crew to help out.
