That is the whole reason I dont buy them.
I build quite a lot of the custm crawlers and would love to buy them, but the price and quanity isnt going to make it happen for me.

But first one to come out with them at an affordable price has my money.

Hey Clay, have you ever thought about adding a real scale motor like I did to the FOJV?

Of course someone would have to make the block out of styrene to keep it light.

Really badly!!!
I have this one but it's just a little to small. Even have the y harness to rig up a servo to open the butterflies with the throttle.

I'm gonna do the engine cage on the hood and would be neat to have something under there.
You offering?

That's what I'm talking about! I picked up that same motor...but it is too small. Hook him up Norm!

We talked this morning, now I just have to get on the ball and get a motor ordered to send to him. How much time do I have to finish this thing up to send it for beauty pics?

End of September. Arrival in Seattle the 26th to be exact. I am headed down Thursday (27th) am to pick up Patrick and help Tim if there's any final details.

Btw that motor is a bit of a Pita to mount as there is not much for mounting bosses. I built a tube style mount for FOJV that you pull/slide the 2 pins out and the motor drops out. It ends up being 4 mounting points for the motor but looks like 1 on either side.

I'll try and stay on track. I have almost everything to finish it as far as parts, just have to build the interior. If I do get done, I can't promise the suspension will be setup properly or tuned. Will probably be down to the wire.
I'm thinking of using a motor plate style mount possibly similar to drag cars or how we do on buggies sometimes when everything is solid mounted.

Now your just showing off.
We're searching for an engine. Not gonna run a Hemi. There is an elusive 427 SOHC ford out there somewhere and that's what I'm wanting.

Just keeping you motivated.

A 427 SOHC would look killer in your buggy.

well I cant find the ford engine as I have been looking for that one too. the last one was around $150.00

But I did give him a hook up to the Corvette engines.

Clay, I dont mind doing the motor for this thing, but to do it up before Champs. Thats not gonna happen.

I have too much to do to the FOJV and it has to be finished and tuned.

I did start working on the interior tonight. I'm no styrene master but promise it will look good in the end. The seats will be laid back a bit like in the 1:1

Also got some pics of the finished 1:1 finally

And some more reference pics

Made some more progress on the interior. Dash and center console will stay blue, the rest will be flat black. Steering column pulls out so that I can remove the interior but locks in place when installed. Switches and radio are also 3d but hard to see in pics.

Props
