Almost forgot...I run VP hubs on the front axle, But on the rear....A bit of weight is saved by using SHIFT HUBS I purchased a set of four and put them on the rear of my pro and sporty.

The shocks & links....In my opinion these are the best shock to use. Kyosho velvet blue cap shocks from Supershafty or where ever you can find em. These have NEVER leaked a drop! Any titanium links are great I am not sure how many places they can be found, But mine are Lundsford titanium rock grinder links. I purchased them of Ebay when they were obtainable in 2009. I have searched lately on Ebay with no luck at all. Titanium links can be purchased thru PURPMART or Classicutcustoms. If there are more places to get em'post it up somewhere on this thread. I don't know off hand who else crafts em'..... Someone help me out on that.

The front shocks are the 3.75" length versions and are limited inside so that they are 88mm extended & 79mm compressed from center of eye to eye. And have the pink Losi mini-t springs. The rear shocks are 92mm extended & 81mm compressed. And have the florescent orange springs. There are white JeepinDoug spring retainers all the way around. RCBros. & DLUX have basically the same thing but come in black. I don't remember where i found the aluminum shock cap mod pieces (Someone help me out on that too) so that i can use link ends on the top of the shock. Which helps to have the clearance behind the servo to flip the shocks upside down which is the filled/heavy end of the shock and improves the center of gravity.....

The links were the same links off of my Yoshi DD set-up. They also have 4 of the DLUX delrin link sliders. So if you want the link original straight lengths look back at his DD build. I am also using his bends. But here are the link lengths as my rig sits now. It could be closer to the 12 1/2 inch wheel base rule but this puts it legal for now.

All measurements are center to center of the rod ends.

* Top front 116mm*
* Top rear 123mm *
* Lower front 127mm*
* Lower rear 141mm*

The first pic is the front links and shocks.
The second pic is the rear links and shocks.

+20wt Losi shock oil in the shocks! For most of the year. 10 or 15wt. in the winter. 30-40wt. in 100 degree weather.

I use Rowdy Racing's parts to protect or mount my electronics!

Too bad these are no longer available.

I have been using alot of different brands/types of servos for R/C racing and R/C crawling. I have broke, fried or stripped every one of them. Hitec has been GOOD to me and it seems to be easiest to get replacement parts... IF it fails me which hasn't been very often. Most servo's get slop in the gears. This Hitec 7980th is still tight after 2 years of thrashing it. But at the 2013 Nats. I broke the case. The mounting tabs ripped right off of it. Had to zip tie it down in order to finish out the day. It is soo damn strong it has removed it self from the rig about 5 times, The first 4 was due to a weak ass mounting bracket. My 2mm carbon didnt hold up to its beef. It broke the 2mm carbon!?! It is now mounted on a beefier & thicker 3mm plate. I asked around where I can get a replacement case and found out it needed to be sent back for a new case. How stupid. I contacted a machinist friend Steve Snook, a Louisville Crawler Bud to make an aluminum top for it. He had it for a week or so had the case 90% done and realized it was a bit more complicated than he thought. Thinking outside the box he came up with a solution.....an aluminum plate! The same thickness of the plate was removed from the plastic top. I have put it thru hell and it keeps on going. My favorite servo ever! Thanks again Steve!

I needed an extra receiver for my Futaba 3PK super, The Futaba receiver is a $90.00 part. So i looked on RC-Tech and found peoples talking about the HobbyKing equivalant. The FrSky TFR4 for less than $30.00! I gave it a whirl...It works great! no problems binding it to my Tx. So here it is.....

I am using a pair of Castle Creations 1/18th scale Micro sidewinder ESC's Smashed together. Not about to show how its done I don't want to take them apart they work great. I am sure its covered in another thread. The only way they will fail is if there isn't enough servo tape between them or if you solder them up incorrectly. My Castle Creations BEC is directly on top of the esc's.

Holmes Hobbies 13 turn 5 pole Skewed CrawlMasters W/ Barry's R/C carbon Motor guards!
16 tooth pinion gears...These motors are ridiculous!!!!! Torque! Speed! Smooth slow! They don't even get warm after a long run! These motors and Carbon guards are highly recommended! Both can be found in the vendors section!

Voodoo's (silver) w/C.I. Foams

Hot Bodies Rover (white) siped and shaved w/C.I Foams

Modded wheels to run "Hung lo" Knuckle weight lowering plates. All hand cut carbon parts for testing the usability and durability of the idea.

I do not commit to one tire for every location or weather type. That can bite you in the azz. I can say that the Rovers work better when the rocks are wet.
And the Voodoo's work better when there is an abundance of traction and the temps are high.

And here are the finished pics. Gear mesh tested. Body panels on. Wheels on. Everything works! I will be at the falls of the Ohio on 6/10/2015. I will be in Louisville KY to visit my dad and do some wheeling at my favorite spot. I'd like to say i am done building/ modding/ improving my XR-10. But it never ends.....

I'm sorry I missed this. Don't visit the xr section often. This truck worked amazing at ecc. Not only that but the products he's manufacturing are top notch. The motor guards I bought are beautiful.

This servo mod is awesome. I have a few servos with Broken ears and I WILL be giving this a try. Perhaps in the future there will be a nice 3mm Carbon mounting plate I can purchase.
