Ok Eeepee Honest opinion are the Omaha steaks worth the money over a nice steak from my local meat counter?

Since they're gifts and I don't know exactly how much the packages are, I can't say. Looking online for the last few years I'm always like, well that's not cheap. They are pretty awesome for sure but whether the cost and quality is worth it is up to you.

I'd probably stick to the grocery store. Or a specialty shop. Or make it a rare occasional splurge.

They are for sure great though. Like, really great. They are frozen though if you care about that as much as Gordon Ramsey does.

Do they have the Usda grading on them? Our local chain grocery has stepped up in a big way and started carrying prime beef. It ain't cheap but damn is it good

They got the stamp but not a rating and a quick glance at the website didn't tell me more. Might be there somewhere but I didn't look hard for it. For at least the last five years I get these packages and everything has been great. Always melt in your mouth soft. Just not exactly cheap.

Tonight's that I did for about 90 seconds less than yesterday.

ive always been told its a pennsylvania dutch thing and that if you ate chicken instead it brought bad luck, "a pig plows forward and a chicken scratches back" is what my parents always said. I wanted to know why i couldnt just have a cheeseburger instead since cows go forward too.... never got a solid answer on that one haha.

I dont know if anybody else does this, but i "dry age" my steaks and it takes the toughest cut of beef and makes it awesome in a very short amount of time. If you do try this, DO NOT use sea salt. I found that one out the hard way haha, the sea salt really gets down into the meat and is impossible to rinse out... i guess it would be good if you like salty meat

Not much point posting a picture of dip but I did a killer onion dip for xmas.

I call it the burnt onion.

two small tubs of light sour cream.
two tablespoons of plain yogurt.
two tablespoons of french onion soup.
Brown onion and red onion smoked overnight.
chopped the onion finely and put in a fry pan to dry out and toast.
when it gets dark, blitz it in the nutribullet.
mix through.
I gave a good squirt of sriracha in it too for some kick.

leave it overnight in the fridge so it all gels together and damn.
if that isn't some beer food with some water crackers I don't know what is.
Probably wouldn't be bad with some carrot sticks either.

How much you toast the onion is up to you. I was too busy drinking beer so
it got a bit black, hence the burnt onion name. Who doesn't mind a bit of charcoal hey?

Merry Xmas kiddo's.

Hey when I was getting 6 lb tenderloins a year and some months ago, I paid $45 from the market supply place. At Dad's house for the Xmas thing and just like that one up there it's $110. That's a crazy mark up on that shit.

Ya it is. See the # 30119 written in pen? My buddy @ the meat counter said to tell the checkout person to use that as the item # and it rang up $9.99/lb, so I really paid 50 and some change.
