The "Elbows" wire wheel thing seems to have come out of Houston, they call it "SLAB" culture, and you'll see things like a Olds Intrigue (the fishy-looking one) with them and fake Continental kits, portholes, etc... What really pisses me off about it is that it's dangerous to others - pedestrians and cyclists - and basically anyone parked next to one is gonna have to play hopscotch jumping over them to walk past the car - and I can only imagine the scrapes and gouges they could inflict on another car's sheetmetal! Here's a another offender: | ||

I Sincerely hope those elbows aren't street legal, are they? I found a Jalopnik article on the Elbows https://jalopnik.com/if-youre-wonder...are-1823893049 its apparently legal based on an overall width limitation, so semi trucks cant do it but regular cars can, lame! Oh and slab is an acronym for either slow low and bangin or slow loud and bangin, funny stuff! Last edited by HumboldtEF; 08-03-2018 at 06:54 PM. |

Just another fad, unfortunately, given the examples stated, a possible dangerous fad. Remember wheel spinners, they lasted about a year, now you rarely see them.

I've seen plenty of them in Austin, too - but we aren't really that far away... Usually the ones here are just the worst part - the wheels, on a somewhat beat-up '90s or '00s American sedan. They aren't the full-on showboats like in most of the pics and videos you see online. |

Putting Spartan charriot towers on car wheels is just stupid.

My best/most recent wth moment: my boss made the serious suggestion that the new uniform shirts for the service dept should be white. Because he wants us to look clean. Over the years I have become more and more convinced that he does not live on this planet. Last edited by Duuuuuuuude; 08-05-2018 at 09:18 AM. |

I guess the wheels and tires were more important than that e brake cable was. |
