Awesome pic of a insanely-cool VW pickup! I had a Pennsylvania-built Rabbit 4-door long ago, absolutely loved it... A friend of mine in the Corps had a baby-blue one with a diesel, and I still remember when someone riding in the bed with us to Palm Springs from 29Palms jumped out to put fuel in while the owner was paying inside - and yep, the dumbass put gasoline in... D'Oh! |

I don't remember what year VW Sport Truck it was, maybe an '81, because it had those 5mph bumpers on it. Bought it when I was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Tx. Great handling truck, especially on the snow covered gravel mountain roads in New Mexico. It was light green, with a white GemTop, 4cyl gas, 4 spd.

I drive a small Suzuki car, and i would love to drop a "busa" engine in it, but i am not allowed to increase my car power with more than a few % If only a few politicians had a car aftermarket parts shop, this would change in no time. |

This belongs in the awesome post IMO, but it also kinda fits in this thread since we were talking about overpowered Smart Cars. |

I think I may have posted other SmartCar images before, there's a dealer in my German cousin's hometown - but in Europe the SmartCar was always a better choice than here, and they offered many more choices... Brabus and other companies hotrodded them, and you could get a 4door (which was much better-proportioned than the 2door) and a couple flavors of the Roadster, the coolest version yet: |

Yes JatoTheRipper, thats the case with any motor vehicle here certified for street use. Same goes for lowering or lifting a vehicle that you can also just do a few mm. And you cant mess with widening the stance either, so those silly wide boy rims and tires, well illegal here And those fancy smancy aftermarket boy light bulbs, well they are illegal here too. Those / many aftermarket exhaust systems are iffy too, a vehicle can only be so loud. you can glue / pop river a lot of BS to your car, but really thats just BS too, either you go custom or IMO you buy a car that have the looks when it leave the factory. And IMO custom are not off the shelf plastic parts you stick to your car, cuz anyone can buy the same plastic and so not really custom. Problem is no one really uphold these laws, so if you get busted in your boosted ricer, well you get a fine and a order to turn up for inspection, in which case by then the original motor are back in the car. Its a sick sick country i live in. |
