Other question is how much faster is the 13.5 over the 18.5? I have been debating over the older goat combo or to go with the 3S and motor seprately. Im on the fence about 3S lipos, mostly due to the cost of the 3s system over the older goat. $164 vs $220 I just want wheel speed and runtime. I am thinking the 13.5 might be too much wheel speed.

It's on your website! http://www.teamnovak.com/products/br...tor/index.html

Number of Turns: 13.5 (#3414), 18.5 (#3419), 21.5 (#3420)

Watts: 195 (#3414), 119 (#3419), 85 (#3420)

KV (unloaded) 3,300 (#3414), 2,700 (#3419),1,800 (#3420) RPM/Volt

The 13.5 spins 600 rpm faster per volt than the 18.5.

7.4 x 3300 = 24,420 for the 13.5
7.4 x 2700 = 19,980 for the 18.5

11.1 x 2700 = 29,970 for the 18.5

so at 11.1 x 1800= 19,980 for the 21.5 with the 3s goat that would be the same wheelspeed i got now with a big torque boost.

or i could gear down with the 18.5 on 3s and have more wheelspeed than now or with the 13.5 and get a torque boost from the gearing.

I have a question about the 5 amp BEC rating on a 2s GoatCrawler esc.
I am running 2 goat crawlers so does this mean 10 amps total?
both ESC's are on a "Y" harness leading to my Futaba reciever.
Do you know how many amps a pair of Futaba s9157 servos draw?
I just want to be sure I am within Novak's specs.

Thanks,
Harry S.

Old S -

When you run Dual ESC's in Parallel through a "y" harness to an RX, yes, you get double the BEC rating, or at least very close to that.

I "think" but could be wrong for this to happen you have to have both on/off switches turned on, so N2 is probably correct in the recommendation to Email them directly.

I've run Dual ESC's with a Y harness over the years and it usually works totally fine.

Am running a Novak goat, don't have an actuall temp but just feels really hot. Am nit running a fan cause the goat does not come with one and never really got this hot befor. This the second esc I have cause the first one that came with the kit burnned out and it was still under warranty so it got replaced. What is an ok tempature for it to be running at and what tempature is too hot?

Thank you for all your help.

We have fan accessories available. Many times a fan is needed for certain apps, whether it is supplied with the item, or not:

my goat would get hot enough that you couldn't hold your finger on it after just a minute of being on, not even driving. i added the fan a month or so ago and it stay's nice and cool now, i think the 3s comes with the fan the 2s probably should have.

Mine takes a little longer that that to heat up, but yea it get's to the point were you cant hold your finger to it. And it never did that befor scare's me a little, and there really is not too much room on my chassis to put a fan eaither.

the fan bolts on top of the heatsink, it's the same size square and about a 1/4 inch thick. so if you've got about 1/4" above the ESC fins it'll fit.

Novak's fans work great.
Mine are clear plastic, 30 mm size.
I have 2 of them installed in my crawler (one on each ESC)
both of the ESC's stay stone cold and actually add a small touch of bling.
