I talked with Stubs about that at the last comp. His was 3" including the scoop. Let's just hope I can close on a house soon... Blue Star time

For me the scoop isn't as much the problem as the low roof line. When I would rock the throttle back and forth it won't put enough pressure on the front. If I had a pound of knuckle weight it might be a different story. The roof on the Exciter is much taller and bubbly so I can pretty much just blip the throttle in reverse then forward and it flips right over.

Because of the mixing on the 6ex I am not sure I can adjust the curve in the radio? I am holding out for a castle link so I can run my micros. It feels pretty go how it is. As I'm getting used to it it's starting to feel a lot better.

The 6ex has a setting called 'normal throttle curve' since the mix is from the throttle channel to should carry over. It carries across the mix on my pks. It will be defaulted to 100%, back it off a dramatic amount at first to see the effect, then start at about 85% and see where it goes for ya!

Where might I find this setting? I have been through this radio and never found a expo while mixing and I have never understood why the radio can not adjust that.

Not sure, I don't have that radio. I googled 'throttle curve 6ex' and saw mention of the the words 'normal throttle curve'

I'll see if I can find more info for you.

I don't know how you would adjust it because the front esc is on ch3 and the rear is ch2. I don't know of any setting is the radio that can be adjusted on ch3. You can adjust EXPO and a couple other things on ch2 but that doesn't help because then won't affect anything when in 4wd.

I am wondering how different a Spectrum radio would be. I think Futaba customer service sucks and would like to get away from them for that reason and since there is not adjusting the mixing.

If I were not just getting used to the Futaba right now, I think I would switch anyway. Maybe I will keep an eye out for a used Spectrum and see how it is?

So no more rolling your tires over on the rims?

Glad you got your foam situation figured out

Maybe a 6i would do what you need

Ya, the foam situation is under control for the most part.

I am not again spectrum by any means. I just don't like the size of feel of the 6i. I would try a 7s. I just think the 6ex is a much more comfortable radio to use. And I like the fact that it uses the same battery's as my crawler.

So you have held a 6I? Have you held a 7s? On their website, they look like the same case. The 7s also looks like its almost 2x the cost.

I do love that the 6ex uses a 3s lipo. Many times I have had my battery go low and I just throw in a used lipo till I get back to my truck.

I have always hated that the 6ex does not have expo on the mixing. I think it has been one of my biggest challenges and downfalls to the twin stick. For whatever reason, I have not thought about setting the expo in the ESC itself.... good idea Dicky!

I had a dx6i a few yrs ago its a big radio it was hard to flip the swicths on the fly like i can with my 6ex theres a few more mods i had to do to the radio to use it on a crawler. The rear motor stick pod had to be spun so it would self center and the springs are way different then futaba springs they were like a flat spring instead of a coil spring like futaba uses. The 1 thing i did like was u could turn off the rear motor stick so it wasnt live all the time. I dont remember if there was any expo settings in there and i wasnt to hip on radio settings not that im any better now but i can figure it out now. Theres a little info on the radio from some personal experiance

Was it this style radio?

Just doing a quick search it looked like they changed styles of radios. I only really use one button on mine, it might be easy enough to just drill a hole and put it anywhere I want? Looks like they can be found all day long used for $100 and the receivers are dirt cheap around $30 new.
