Check my thread here for a source for belts:
Replacement drive belt source?

I found a replacement belt for the rear after looking through a selection of VCR belts my local Fry's Electronics had. It is PRB Line part # SCA6.7 Its about $1-$2 depending on where you find it.

Question

Hi there. Im a newbie here :P
I've been reading you for a couple of days.

I just bought one 1:6 Jeep yesterday (Went to littleton USA about 2hours from my place). So after 18 LOOONG hours, today, i was crawling rocks backward then the truck just stopped... then start and stoped again... and so on... So i took it and put it in the street in foward and he still doing the same thing... Even on plain surface, backward or foward... Looks like a security cut-out or something like that....

Any idea?

*Sorry, my english sucks. I from Quebec.

Double check the battery in your controller. Barring that, you might want to open up the axles to see if there is something wrong inside. Does it seem like an electronic problem or a gear problem?

Cool

I supposed it was doing this because my battery was low... I charge the pack all night then went to a trail and went good for couple of hours I guess... then same again... so... maybe just the batteries.

But still, I like a lot this RC... Soon I'll start a make over to make it look like my old YJ...

I'm losing front axle power when i try to reverse. I took the cover off and made sure everything was tight. There is locktite on the screws and no teeth were missing. I've only run 3 battery packs through it...

Other than that, i love it!!!

Hey ManYum, I'm having the same problem with mine too. Check and make sure your axles are in the same range. Thought that was a problem with mine, but turns out it wasn't. Getting some new parts from Nylint though so hopefully I'll have mine back up in a while.

Awww man.. Thats bad news. :( Is it the knuckles themselves that arent available or the knuckle assemblies?

My 1:6 is dead at the moment due to the knuckle pulling itself through the pins. It was only on its 2nd charge too. :(

Hopefully they are in the process of working on a new and improved part. I'll cough up $$ if they want it just to have a better part for my truck.

I had a problem with the pinion gear on the steering motor slipping off...

i ended up using shoe goo on the inside of the pinion hole and havent had a problem since... it seems that the grease had worked its way in there and did its job... other than that, i have run @ 6 packs through it and it is workin great... A buddy of mine was over last night and was playin with it... now he's going to go to wally world to buy a 1:18th... awsome product and support. ! A+ in my book

Yeah, my front tires will lock up when my steering is at full lock either way. Its really bad in reverse and sometimes going forward. It sucks. Any ideas?

well i was just tooling around with mine trying to finish draining the battery after its first charge so i can recharge it, and I had it in high range, in reverse, full lock and full throttle and I heard a very nasty popping noise. Seems its coming from the passenger side knuckle, axle shaft, hub area.

Got about four long runs out of my 1/6th and the belt seems to be slipping. My friends just started it the other day.. Besides that this thing is fun for what it is.. About time these toy rc trucks are getting made stronger..

Well i just got my front end torn apart to diagnose the problem. Sure enough, the passenger side knuckle is screwed. the thin metal cup inside that the axle shaft sits in is almost totally reemed out. theres a few chunksw missing too it seems. And for all my effort i was rewarded by accidently jamming a philips head screwdriver through my thumb. I'll post pictures of the hub after i finish cutting my skin with an x-acto knife to pull a chunk of skin out to where it should be and get everything wrapped up.
