Yea I didn't think it looked too bad out of proportion. I took about 2 1/2 inches out of cab before fixing the back of it back on. I could have done a lot better with the body filler. I can see the imperfections

I got some 1.55 wagon wheels and some pit bull growler tires. I wrapped lead weights around the inside of the wheel for weight and it works great. Since the tires are a little smaller than the 1.9s I had on I was able to drop the body down a little more as well. It crawls a little better and looks a lot more proportional.

I finally got the body in primer last weekend. I generally only get to work on it on Friday evening or Saturday between customers

Still have to decide what colour its going to be..... maybe a nice blue metal flake

I was wondering the same thing, I am looking to repower my barrage. Not a lot of options in the 370 size. Has any changed theirs or have recommendations?

Check out the losi mini crawler section, I know they use the same size motors. I believe team brood makes some nice motors in 370-380 size.

I've seen some videos on YouTube before of people upgrading I believe to the traxxas motor but would like to see someone's perspective on it to see the durability.

I've been studying the barrage thinking of new cosmetic ideas. Can't help but think with this body it'll look great with a tube bed. Has anyone chopped their barrage body uo like this?

I am looking to get one of the old Chevy or Ford pickup bodies that are made for the Stampede to replace my deformed stock Barrage body. I might try to do some tubing of the stock body after cutting away the damaged areas. Not sure yet on that, but it has crossed my mind.

How well do you guys think the stock transmission would hold up as a transfer case?

Edit : I recently bought a rc4wd r2 trans for my forward mounted motor just debating with myself if I should keep the stock trans as a transfer case or find a transfer case.

Hey guys

Just picked up a Barrage in a sale this week. Pretty impressed with what you get, but I've already got the following on the boil;

- Stock servo much too weak IMO. Tower Pro servo ordered, v. cheap, much more torque - some people moan about these but I have them in some much bigger models and have no complaints. It's full size, but I have some longer screws and M3 spacers + washers to fit. If the steering link isn't too happy with the new angle I might have to sort that.

- Zippy 2200mAh 2S lipo ordered

After that, I'll run it a bit and if I'm pleased I'm next looking at winches and shackles. Interested in hearing from anyone who has mounted any of the cheaper winch units from ebay and the like on to the stock front bumper/fender.

Not really putting RC4WD stuff on this one, bought cheap and hoping to keep it that way for once!

Cheers

I went with a cheaper winch I found on Amazon. I didn't feel like fighting with the mounting plate and screws, so I used super glue and mounted it to the front bumper that way. I clamped it down and let it set over night. I have had no problems with it even when putting a heavy load on the winch. I mounted the wireless control unit to the inside of the body.

if your looking for a bumper for your winch the yeah racing ones for the scx10 can be made to fit and have winch mount holes. it's what I have on mine just without a winch. I think I got mine for 12 dollars off ebay

I installed an Integy winch on my stock bumper and it works well; The only issue is that the stock bumper is all plastic and flexes under load. its fine for a straight pull but off camber or lifting pulls will flex the mounts
