did make some tire chains for the stock wheels since I live in snow country. I think they came out pretty slick.

I have a question on maxstone 16(battery-7.2v 1100mAh). I want to wire up two 3.7v 650mAh lipo batteries in series.
Would that not give me 7.4 v and 1100mAh?
Will this harm anything? Is the extra .2v going to mess anything up?
Thanks

I have 20mm widners in mine with mudslingers and easily misses the lower links. So yours may be a little closer but I don't think they should rub

I run a 7.4v 2s lipo in mine with no issues so that should be fine. Just remember that the stock esc does not have Low voltage cutoff for lipos

Thanks. I read something about that earlier, I ordered a cheap alarm to plug in when ordered the batteries. I like the idea of two 3.7, fits so nice on top of the servos

Yeah trying to fit a 1000mah 2s lipo in such a small rig is kinda painful

anyone convert to 4wheel steer with the Redcat 3channel?

Amazon.com: Redcat Racing 3 Channel 2.4GHz Crawler Radio with Receiver: Toys & Games

looks legit and for $55 seams like a good TX/RX combo for the price. looks like out of the box its already good to go as well.

Well, the six cell it comes with is no picnic. Sitting up so high.
At one time I thought about buying two 3 cell and putting them on the servos, but they were kind of spendy. These lipos are cheaper and should be better

haha yeah well i didnt use the six cell for very long. You will definatly notice a power difference when running lipo and run times as well

Not quite. 2 series gives you 7.4v 650 mAh.
2 parallel gives you 3.7v 1300mAh.

It'd take a 2s2p pack to get to your batteries up to 7.4 v and 1300mAh, which would just be easier to get bigger packs and stay with a 2s.

Wow, appreciate your input.
First things first, 650+650 is of course 1300 not 1100. Little brain fart of mine. And yes I have to rethink. Now Im thinking wire two in series, the other two in series. I'll have two@7.4 and 650. Then wire these in parallel, and I should get the 7.4 and 1300 I so desire.

Why use 4 small instead of one large with the same numbers? The rig is so small, its nice to have small packages I can move almost anywhere, Im shooting for top of servos.

I think I've got this right now. Let me know. Thanks!!

I converted mine to 4 wheel steer with a Y harness and servo reverser on the stock radio. I think I paid $8 for the servo reverser a while ago for another project and never got around to using it. I found a high torque servo that fits the stock servo mount from HobbyKing for $14 bucks, so I'm using that on the front and using the stock one on the rear. It works fine for the tooling around I'm doing in the garage and the living room.

Also, as it relates to batteries, I did order 2 Lipos from Hobbyking that I think should fit. One is a 1000 mah and the other a 1500. I'll get some pictures up once I get them fitted to see how they look/fit.

@CJP_8_7

What wheel wideners are you using?

These little batteries are perfect and shave off 100 grams: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00LZK...VX97CM90PVCPGS

I now have an ecx and redcat and find the redcat motor handles bigger tires better than the ecx.

+1 which wheel wideners are you using?

The ecx has a standard servo and mount, the redcat has a smaller one. I upgraded the redcat servo to standard, but only have a temporary mount. Since the ecx mounts are on extensive backorder - is the exceed or maxstone servo mounts full size?

Thanks

The Exceed Maxtone and Redcat Everest 16's are both NOT standard size servo mounts. The ECX Temper mount however is, but it's on a giant global backorder, I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

The Redcat/Exceed servo mount will only hold a servo that is 36mm wide. I'm using the Turnigy TGY-MG930 ($15 from HK) up front and the stock Redcat servo in the back.

I haven't been able to find published specs on the Redcat servo, but assuming its the same as the Exceed servo, it's a 2.5 KG unit, which seemed to be fine for the stock tires, the TGY-MG930 is rated at 3.6 KG which is why I put it up front.

ok sorry i didn't understand but now i do (i think ). i got an aluminium standard size servo mount for a 1/10 crawler and drilled the holes to match the mounts on my hsp kulak (exceed/ maxstone same thing). this meant that i can run a standard size servo and it is mounted properly and much more neatly.
