One of the most endearing qualities of this truck is the ease with which it barrel rolls at any speed (esp. when leafed) and its tendency to land on its feet way more often than not when it does.

Very true.. The only time I end up having to roll the truck over, is when I'm turtled, between the cab back and the tail gate.
Other then that, she likes being in her feet..

Spent some time last night. Conformal coating the bec and sensor board..

Motor mounted and electronics double checked.
Soldering to be done this afternoon.

One thing I noticed, the female bullets on the MMX need to be swapped out.
Some more awesomeness from HH, they are provided with the motor!

Now I'm hunting packs down, to get my "battery tray" off the passenger side floor, in the cab.
I've found 850-1000mah 3s packs that will fit, with modification to the "electronics's box"...

But I'm going to check the run time on my 450mah 3s comp packs, first.

Onward!!!

On/off switch soldered together, female motor connector's swapped, and bec soldered on..
Fitment..

Not my normal "clean" wiring, but this is the only time it will be seen.. ;)

How it will be seen..

Ummm... Problem... :(

Poor sensor wire.. Grrrrrr...

But, no worries.. A Castle X harness is ordered and the motor sensor wire combined to it, will be perfect!

Yes, I could put the ESC under the hood, but I don't want to! Lol..
So we will have to wait till the mail shows up.. :/

Other parts of the build need finished, from a year ago, till then..

This came in on Thursday..

This allows for your usual sensor wire to plug into it..
Checking fitment..

Yep, good enough to hide with the body!

Today I broke it back down and hit it with the castle link..
Then checked the workings..
Motor is running backwards..
Castle link please...
Ahh, that's better!
Almost time for a test run!

Ok, "scale guys"...

What do I have? Like, specifically..
Cause I have no idea! Lol..

Back left.. Is pretty cool! Just 2 wires coming out. Internal controller?
I'm thinking good for a C2 or C3 rig.. ?

Front looks like the whole Bang..
HV winch controller and all???

Back center and back right, all three RX wires.. Stock setup?

Yep thats a KMS, awesome servo winch! You will need a HeyOK controller, it will enable you to use it with a 2 position or 3 position radio!

What up Britt!
I was sure it was kms.. Just going someone had knowledge of the controller situation, which you seem to have nailed.

I also PM'd HeyOK and got some feedback.. I also checked out his products..
I might be selling some of these and getting a "Ready winch".. Atleast for this rig.
Wireless would be much easier on my setup..
Plus it's Everything needed to plug and play! (Minus soldering to the servo motor)

Heyok winch controllers are awesome, it took my rc4wd winch from junk to amazing pulling power for a scale winch

Good thing for a interior! Lol..

Can't even tell there's a mile of wire!

I know one thing I can tell... Powah!!!!!

1st gear has a "lil" pep and 2nd gear has a a "lil" torque!

I don't even think 4s will be necessary...

Probably doesn't mean that it Won't get it, but I'm stoked with the upgrade!
Still smooth crawling, great drag break, and everything I was looking for!

I've gotta say. Getting the wires, mmp esc and battery to fit without looking like a birds nest has been the most frustrating part of this build so far. My race vehicles were nice and clean. So far my truck looks like it has a mile of rainbow spaghetti puked up in it.
