No problem.....but not really.

Tube bed: Bed made of tubing that bolts to the "c" channel frame. Can be narrowed in the rear.

Flatbed: Flat bed that is the width of the cab all the way to the back, usually with a wood deck.

Truggy bed: Tube bed that replaces the rear portion of the "c" channel frame and is a structural part of the rig.

Dammit I wish I would have read this before I bought my Pitbulls.

Oh well... any excuse to buy another set of wheels and tires is a good thing.

Even If I never get to attend a proper comp. These rules give me something to build towards and limit the truck to make it more challenging to drive.

Not a thing, they're amazing. but they push my Jeep into class 2 because of there advertised OD. Side from that it is a class 1 rig.

Any chance of upping the Classv3 tire max to 5.8 to allow the new RC4WD 2.2 IRoks?

Does an aluminum body on a wraith count as a hard body?

The girls were curious...

If not the panels, I'm pretty sure you have 3 other hard bodies there

Will nobody answer their question???? Geez, some people!

P.S. Neil, they're only into chicks. You'd know that if you'd read the 'who is driving your wraith' thread lately!

Not likely. We didn't want to touch the current rules until the end of the year.

Since those are really metal panels on a tuber then you'd get hard panel points for a tuber (-1).

Do you have a side view. Like Tim stated if they are panels... but if it is a custom built 1 piece body, well then, thats different...

I didn't think a custom body needs to be one piece? Bronco or the Willy was not.

They're simply rigid metal panels, War Pig was right with -1. I was being a smart ass more than anything.

It needs to be more than a few flimsy bolt on panels. The Willys was a complete body, I could pull it off the chassis and bolt it together.

The Bronco.....well the cab part was all one piece, the hood, fenders, battery box, and windshield frame was steel, so you tell me if that should count as a half a hardbody?

The whole reasoning behind bolt on panels not getting hardbody points is that there really isn't a performance disadvantage with aluminum panels, whereas a complete hardbody does weigh more and a body like the Bronco has a disadvantage due to its weight. We may have to figure out how to word it better so people that deserve the points get them.

I really like that Wraith, looks cool with the aluminum panels, and you did a nice job on the hood.

.
They'll be out next week, so we have to wait 10 months to see if they might become legal. September is 6 months away.

The rule should be 6 inch any way, at 1/8 inch scale a 6 inch tire would be a 48inch. Most of the class 3 rigs are 1/8 scale. The scaler I'm building , I'm coping a 1:1 rig that runs 49 inch tire.

With the rule being at 5.75 , a 1/8 inch scale rig ,can only go as big as a 46 inch tire.

You do know you have to power to change it .

What if it's 5.8 , thats less than this _ much to big. Change the rule now and you could run it in September.

So what, every time a manufacturer comes out with something that doesn't fit in the SORCCA rules we're just supposed to change the rules? That sets a bad precedence......the manufacturers know the rules and max sizes for each class, complain to them. If you really have to run these tires, Class 3 allows cut-and-shut tires, take a lug out so they are legal.
