Very nice ITG, I think this is going to be a very popular "mod" to these wheels. Even if people don't try it at first, after a couple weeks in the rocks and some good rash, it'll be a great way to clean them up again. If I ever manage to get a set of these, it'll be the first thing I do.

What kind of mods would be needed to get these to work with Pro-line XL tires?

Not a big fan of the method design myself but sanding the edges definitely makes them look much better.

Thanks for backside pic. Little wider, but still not as wide as they ought to be for 2.2s.

Would you post dimensions like SSD RC does? Overall width between inner and outer "lock rings", distance from rear lip of wheel bead to center where wheel hex seats?

Nothing. Proline tires will mount to any wheel. Anyone that says otherwise is either too lazy or not smart enough to figure it out.

Well I ordered RPP's last two sets of 2.2 Black 307s for my CXT. I like the more budget friendly options VP is offering. Not thrilled about non-SLW hubs but hopefully the included ones are close enough to the 475s on the truck already.

After seeing all of the photos I am impressed. They look very nice for the price. I will be buying a set at some point.

hub looks bulkier than an slw to me. other than the change in harware im still not really seeing the need. will an slw fit if it was drilled and tapped for the new bolt circle?

not bitching but it may lead to a neat jig somebody could make that allows us to drill existing slw hubs to the new hub design.

Good idea, but I'd rather drill the wheels to fit an SLW hub, like peeps do with Axial plastic beadlocks etc. The "standard" VP SLW hub is a nice standard, SSD wheels fit, RC4WD wheels fit (sometimes need to run a drill bit through the holes to clean up the powdercoat), HR (Hot Racing) wheels fit with sometimes slight cleanup same as RC4WD.

The hub is way smaller and a lot simpler. Bolt pattern seems very close to the 1.7 rc4wd Raceline wheels I have here.

Harley already stated the new hubs were to bring it in tighter on the 1.9s and for sake of cost the whole line uses the same hubs. It's really not a huge deal, I have a ton of slw hubs here, but they don't work on a lot of the wheels I have, gearhead, rc4wd, mayhem etc.

Sure they crated the standard, but now that I have these wheels here, I'm glad the hub is smaller, they were able to spread the design of the wheel out quite a bit.

If I remember when I get home I can post a picture of the hubs together. It is substantially smaller, and lighter than it would have been if it were the slw pattern.

just curious for no other reason than being curious.

Im curious why they didnt just drill the rims for slw, and sell it without the hubs for even cheaper? I really hope the rims can be drill out to fit 4-40 and run slw instead.

No matter how many times I read it the answer still sucks.

I imagine some industrious fellow will come out with a better solution to the hub issue than what is currently available before long. Not really a big deal.
