I'm always trying tires and wheels together. But, maybe...

can somebody post a comparable width slw next to the incision hub? it looks like a much smaller (scale) bolt circle as i assume the recessed wheel nut area is the same diameter as an slw.

that alone would be a valid selling point. what we would call a unique selling proposition...

Bolts are now 2-56. Smaller bolt pattern. Smaller diameter and round hub for better scale appearance. Don't have one handy at the moment but can get picks later if no one can provide.

I am assuming the Incision hubs will be quite cheap. So any kind of SLW to Incision adapter probably won't be worth it, no?

Thanks for sharing Hahns, that new hub doesn't really make me feel too good. 12.9 grade hardware will be a must if I get a set of these.

Soooo, why couldn't they have used the SLW drill pattern again? Doesn't look that different from where I'm at.

I don't see why everyone is complaining so much. They bitch about how much SLW wheels cost, so VP makes cheaper wheels... then they bitch about the hardware and size. Can't please anybody.

Here they are on my CXT. Probably the easiest wheels for mounting tires that I've used. The width also just where I like it. The offset with the included hubs matches the old TrailReady beadlocks with 475 SLWs perfectly as well.

That truck is pretty cool. What is a CXT?

Edit: Nevermind, google'd it.

SLW is basically the standard now. Different manufacturers make hubs, scale rotors, beef patties, etc in this pattern so a lot of us have these things sitting around. Them changing the pattern for these wheels is an inconvenience that will cost us more money.

IMO the better thing to do for the hubs would have been to ditch the stupid hex and just machine out a slot for the pin and used the SLW pattern. Probably would have been cheaper to machine too.

ETA These hubs do look more scale though.

I don't see the logic in their choice. The wheels are still the same size. Why can't you spread the bolt pattern ever so slightly so they still accept the industry standard and still sell them at a lower price? That would have made more sense to me.

But you are getting these hubs with the wheels... SLW hubs are $15/pair... thats and extra $30 for a set. I'm sure these hubs will cost about $20 for a set of four. I understand your frustration, but you don't have to buy them.

Every large company has products under different lines, and they all don't share interchangeable parts. Something has got to give in order to keep you in that product line.

Smaller diameter hubs and pattern means more scale appearance and more detail in the wheel face.
Is it a little inconvenient since many are used to and use the SLW pattern, sure. Is it an issue, no not really. I've been a ring a better looking hub since the birth of the SLW and now we have it.

I'd like to see the Incision Methods next to the VP Methods to compare the change in bolt pattern. From 6+ feet away, where are eyes are most of the time while driving, I highly doubt it's noticeable.

You also talk about a more detailed wheel. What details do the Incision wheels have that the VP wheels do not? I'm not seeing any.

These hubs should be half the cost of the SLW hubs or else the switch is really a bad idea.

I'm not saying the currently released wheels have more detail, it simply opens up the options for newer designs later.

I see. The way you said it made it seem like these new wheels have more detail and that surprised me because these are much cheaper.
