Whoa that's weird, your posts disappeared and reappeared, time and space continuum warped lol.

Excellent print job!

It was the moebius.

“There is this theory of the Moebius. A twist in the fabric of space where time becomes a loop from which there is no escape. So when we reach that point, whatever happened will happen again.”

Best place and angle to drill at with drill bit in place, I prefer to drill careful and slow from the inside and out through the link mount. 2.5mm caphead screw with matching flat washer and locknut, still room for gears and can swap pinions if need be with it in place. This makes the screw penetrate the pumpkin at a proper right angle so that the washer and nut seat squarely inside and spread the load evenly over the plastic housing. There's more room between the locknut and pinion than it loosk in this picture. I thought about using a 3mm screw, but 2.5mm is strong enough and leaves more room to allow for a flat washer and locknut.

My fiddly little (love that term, no offense intended Yeti.stealth) JB Weld external spacer. Yeti.stealth, great job on your spacer, I was not feeling like making more tiny odd shaped spacers especially after already making one for inside the pumpking, that I then didn't use.

Looking good Natedog, I bet that has the rear axle locked solid in place now, mine has hardly any axle roll even with 1 screw missing!

Drilling a hole for your bracket would be very easy and accurate every time, and no funny shaped spacer.

Seeing your bracket now has given me an idea.
How's your idea coming?

Hawt! How's it coming?

Really curious to how you extended that arm? Looks so much better.

Hi Jarrettrd,
Your Bronco is looking cool already, its a shame you dont like that body, will be interested in your build tread and to see what you end up making it into!

The steering links, i justs screwed cut down 3mm threaded rod to extend them as required and slide steel car brake tube over the top of it, tube cut to length, then screwed on ascender rod ends.
Also used a longer screw i think to attach to steering knuckle arm.

Thanks a lot! I can't wait to see where it ends up. To be honest the body is growing on me. BUT I'm not sure I'll ever get past the baby blue!

Awesome thats kind of what I was thinking you did. But wasnt sure what you were using to cover the threads with. Good looking out. If you don't mind? Where did you get the 3mm rod from?

Thanks!

Local hobby shops should have small packets of threaded rod in a few sizes.

When it comes time to rebuild your rtr chassis, assuming that your gunna extend it from its current Bronco wheelbase 1 set up, and if you want to build in into the longer wb3 or 4 chassis you will need a few things....

Just off the top of my head quickly, you will need a bag of longer threaded rods to screw into ends of suspension links to accomodate the 12mm spacer, the 12mm spacers, a new heavy duty drive shaft set because you will need a longer rear drive shaft, and maybe the steering servo mounts to change it from the sideways mount that's it's at now. If you modify the steering links as I have, then you won't need the longer steering link to suit new servo position.

When the time comes we can provide part numbers, photos and more details if you like.

Very nice guys, way to recycle and repurpose. You both do a great job of thinking outside the box!

They are a simple free scale mod, but really adds to the trucks look. No longer can u see right through the body or windows down to the ground. Also functional as the inner guards stop mud etc from splashing over everything.

Home made inner fenders are just another great idea I have found on this forum!!!
