sorry about your Pop. I miss mine more than i thought i would. very therapeutic doing a tribute rig, i highly recommend it. cant wait to see either one or both you have described.

for the dim headlights just gotta pay attention to the color temp on the LEDs. "soft" or "warm" whites are the way to go. you could dip them in transparent yellow paint and that would also limit brightness a bit. i hate the fact we don't have radio shack anymore. i used to get LEDs there all the time it was great.

new driver looks great as well as the rear fenders.
Thanks I appreciate the comments.

I started printing a 77 body. I'm going to set it on my slider I just picked up and see how it looks after I get it complete.

The one I'm using is actually a 79 from thingiverse but I'm going to swap out the grill with a 77. As soon as I get some of the parts printed I'll post pics.

I will probably not be using an ascender this time. I picked up an hpi venture on the cheap so I may be using that or the scx2 kit version I have also.

Yes the hpi doesn't have a lot of aftermarket support but I make most of my own parts anyway.

I might have to tweak the shape. I don't want to run a wheelbase that long. I need to shorten it about 1.25" Currently with the close to proper width of 8.75 I am sitting at 13.58 long. That's not going to work. Hmmmmm

WHAT?!! where on thingiverse was that?! I mostly look on shapeways but sometimes peek at thingiverse. Huh.
So what you're saying is...
I didnt necessarily have to pay out the nose for a body and shopping from Korea...

Huh.

Huh. I'll be damned.
And your fender arches look more accurate too.

Well hey welcome to the dent side club brother!!!
Maybe I will actually work on mine before proline??? I hope to have it ready.
Like I said let me know if you need help on your f series.

*oh I have an extra short bed on hand. Matching shell topper. Let me know if you need it We can work something out.
And I know what you mean about wheelbase (343mm for mine). I'm going to stretch my ascender to the limit, and I need to figure out how long of a drive shaft for that. That's where I'm stuck plus need to assemble and finish my Korean f series.
Dent sides, ASSEMBLE!!! literally...

**and for your wheelbase motivation... Stretching the ascender via GCMs Facebook...

There is a few options. I think minimum number is 9 pieces. You can split the cab up also for 15 pieces. The hard part is getting the scaling just right. I'm going to have to cheat it because the actual scale width is 7.6". I am going to make it 8.66 and some how get the wheel base at 12.3. Traxxas did it with the bronco and it looks pretty good. The hard part is getting all the pieces adjusted. I thought about making a 1/24 scale body just so I can use it as reference. It would also look nice on my 1/24 truck.

His truck wasn't a short box but I want scale and performance on this one. I might even do some sort of a truggy. The end picture isn't complete at this time.

Oh and there's one other option. I was looking through pictures and saw this. The old scout and racecar. He would use a towbar and tow the race car with the scout.

Nab a redcat scout body and that should be a snap! I dig it!

I hear ya on the short box thing. If you remember thats how I have a spare bed. Korean dude misunderstood but made right and sent me a long bed cuz thats what my pop had with the dual fuel tanks.

Good luck with yours, I hope you get the scale figured out. The fender arches really look much more accurate than mine.
Forgot what width mine is but the narrowed CODYBOY axles and losi cr12 1.55 wheels snuggled up under there perfectly.

Wow that thing looks pretty good. Almost a traxxas clone. But that body is fantastic. Hopefully they will sell it unpainted?
