So, just a minor update... Meatwad and I tried it out in the front yard and realized just what I thought...it was pretty stiff and not much flex going on. If you look closely at the springs on the shocks, I used the mini springs like I have on my XR...they fit nicely on the bottom half of the Big Bores. I used an orange spring (the firmest) softened her up quite a bit. Still a bit droopy in the front though...I have 32 wt oil in the front shocks and 40 in the rear. Probably got to 40 in the front as well. Meatwad is a good tuner, at least for the SCX10...helped me a lot. |

Wow, just checked the mail Saturday morning the wife was picking on me about what to get me for Xmas so I pointed out some Vanquish wheels as a wish list. She said just order them....so I didn't think twice....placed the order, get a confirming e-mail, 5 minutes later get another e-mail (I'm thinking pay pal didn't work or something) It's a ship notice from Vanquish ....5 freekin minutes...SHIPPED I GET IT TODAY. I swear they have a delivery van and I've never seen it. Ordered and shipped in 5 minutes on a Saturday ...I get it in Monday's mail How does that happen Must be Christmas.... |

BUT...I am changing it again. I mounted up the wheels yesterday and got the weight added in the front. I hate rotating mass in the wheels, hard to get the foam balanced so it isn't all wobbly (woogidy for those that know). I used a sleeve collar in the rear instead of wheel weight. Re-mounted the spare...it was just too high...it will help my COG and crawlability. Investigated the interior....Wild Willy is just too big, he looks funny in there I'll post up numbers with pics later today

If Alex is in Tahiti do you blame him ??? I'd stay there too rather than dealing with the snow I saw in the other post....looked cold man So...new wheels and weights This is the collar I spoke of... 1.5 oz on each side New Vanquish SX-4w beadlocks....everyone who makes a wheel should take notes from Vanquish ....so easy to mount up. 3 oz of weight in each front wheel... New spare position...should help COG. I'm going to bungi mount it So, have my liquid tape drying and just about set to do the first shake down crawl. I'm off all next week but it's suppose to rain for the next 7 days...not sure I'm going to get one in before the 6th of Jan...the next comp date. At this rate we might need chains as well as waterproofing. |

Thanks Chris....ya, the clearance wasn't much even without the flairs...may have to raise the body a bit. Really like to get it on some rocks soon and see how it works. The wife thought that was a blue color too...it's actually called "Corsa Grey". ..it's a Tamiya color

Im really diggin that body and the red trim on the hood is eye catching. The weight collars are a sweet addition! do they work on other knuckles? New spare tire position is good idea...it looks nice within the cage and it also lowers COG as oppose to being mounted up on top of the cage. Hey fellas...its nice to be back with an internet connection...cant say the same for the cold weather. Last edited by Lobonyc; 12-23-2012 at 07:56 PM.

I dig the old school prerunner-ish look it has to it, nice job. FWIW, I'd ditch the spare unless you need the points at a comp, kinda' breaks up the flow of the lines of the body and cage.

Thanks Cheatin ....spare is strictly for the comp points...and a little weight in the rear. This rig was built just for comping since my TF2 bombed so badly in a class 2... Welcome back Alex....really thought you went to Tahiti though....Puerto Rico looks nice also...you went crawling with the bats man...cool pics in your Ho thread You know Pale...no matter how I slice it, that grey color does look a little blue to me too...it's not bad though...maybe in the sunlight it will look like the grey it should |

[QUOTE=Lobonyc;4089035] The weight collars are a sweet addition! do they work on other knuckles? The inside is a 5/8" opening with the set screw clamped down pretty good. These fit over the rear locker of an AR60 axle also. I used a collar from McMaster Carr that worked better on the TF2 axles. Would really like to find a "budget" option to the knuckle weights available from the after market guys...but haven't found anything that works well yet....hence the weight inside the wheels |

They do look nice there especially with the open wheels...almost looks like a drum brake from the outside. I know you prefer the mounted weight as oppose to weights inside the wheel to save the universals unnecessary punishment. Oh by the way the fender flares are a cool touch...i have a set myself; have not used it because the inside mount interferes with the floor pan...Floor pan won! |

Almost wish they were the same color as the truck... I need to carry some of the red toward the rear...I have a red jack and gas can and red bungi cords. My son found a wooden scale barrel ....soon to become the "whiskey Express" |
