Its Christina , but anyways the truck looks great Post decals came out nice and love the barrel. I need to finish my wreck so I can work on a truggy style truck , but doing wreck 2 gave me ideas for wreck 1 so the truggy might have to wait. How does the suspension work ? is it still stiff or did you change springs? and do the tires get into the flares?

Ah, I knew it was one of those ditzy blondes...

I did leave the mini springs on there, they worked pretty good and surprisingly enough, the clearance wasn't an issue....but...we didn't try a lot of articulation stuff either. The chassis would twist enough to keep the flairs off the tire when I did push it. All in all, I was pretty happy with the shake down run...enough so not to change anything before the comp next Sunday anyway....wheel speed with the 35t and my gearing was spot on.

Chino's Unimog was the Shiz ....I think I might attempt one of those next..

Man a good time is what its all about....wish i had my rig there with you guys.

Your pics just gave me an idea for an all day location here in NYC - Bear Mountain. It's similar to your pics...nice hiking trails and similar terrain, not as wet though, lol.

Oh by the way...its not shakira, lol

Christina Aguilera : Dirrrrrrrrrrrty

Damn...i took to long to finish this post...pale beat me to it, hahahah.

Hey pale...i got to paint the boat panels on the wreckluse red...them was the hardest to turn red...took a whole can of paint but the results were good. will post pics later...got to finish the little details. have you ever been to bear mountain?

Whoa...she's nasty...

My truck was so dirty...there was mud in places I wondered how it got in there. I think next time I get it that muddy, I won't let it dry before I clean it either...spent the entire day and it's still got places with mud in it.

Busted the styrene back I had behind the cab...half of it is still out there somewhere. Got rock rash everywhere. Twisted the inside wall of one of my rear tires...just the inside. I've seen Meatwad do that once, but I want to say it was the whole tire. As soon as I undid the screws it straightened up...Cyrus had a Pro4 I think. I had some wheel speed but not enough to twist a tire like that...don't think I like these ripsaws

Thanks for the luck you guys...I will definitely get some pics at the comp...

Hey Post that is some dirty fun!

Twisted tires?...well you know there is gonna be some mishaps, lol at least it was easily remedied.

All in all it seemed like you had a good shake down run.

I once had the 2.2 Ripsaws but i quickly gave them away after a few trials in the apt. i recall them shifting on the wheel so i didnt want to chance it getting worse on a real trail.

Anyways the MT Ozark Runner needs a drink on the house.

I see the Trepadors are 4.6"...very close to the Iroks 4.65" but taller than the ripclaws 4.3"

They look good Post...nice and realistic although my favorites are still the Iroks.

Did you find the ripclaws a bit on the soft side?

Actually didn't like the sidewall twist, plus the grip wasn't there for me. Following the same lines that Chino and Meatwad took, my grip was the weakest and my foams were probably the softest so that should have helped some. The Trepadors on Chino's Mog gripped the best...the pits on meatwad's truck did pretty good...but they talked about them getting holes in the side walls...not sure I wanted to deal with that.

My first choice were the PitBulls but I changed my mind after seeing the performance of the Trepadors. The tread isn't aggressive like the Swampers and they look better in my opinion (Swampers)... But this is a comp truck, so I'm looking for performance. We'll see I guess

Wow...That is really good to know with regards to getting holes on the sidewalls. I 've had the Pits on my list of things to get ever since i had seen them on MeatWad's wraith. I thought that rig was great looking on 1.9's.

Do you know if Chino is using the stock foams or something different?

The pinholes in the pitbull sidewalls are a reality but not a deal breaker. I even cut some nice vent holes in the tread, never had a rip. They are a very soft compound so care should be taken when choosing foams.

Dean doesn't run much of anything stock He's got some cool methods for foaming up tires

Wonder if he'd care to share that...I figured he'd have something out of the norm.

hey man, that was some good fun the other day! Thanks for letting me tag along. I think the ripsaws work pretty well with the right foam in them. I like the Trepadors better though due to their super scale looks. Your little '57 looked really stable, seems to work well but needed more ground clearanace, the Trepadors should be the ticket. As for my foams, still running RC4WD foams wrapped with softer packing foam unvented.

Dean, you are welcome any time....
maybe I'll keep those ripsaws then.
I do want a bit more clearance though...hopefully those Trepadors do the trick...really, no vent holes on them ??? Thanks for checking out the little 57, I was pretty happy with the maiden voyage...
