| ![]() I had some freetime tonight and made some progress, I did up the links and shocks. I used another one of Team NCD’s optional parts for the SuDuOne chassis. Tomy offers some nice delrin lowerlinks at additional cost, they are meant to work wit revo rodends and come with M4 scrubscrews installed. Pics and further details below … Links & Shocks NCD delrin lowerlinks (front & rear) TRX revo rodends #5347 Axial SCX10 plastic shocks Losi mini-T silver springs (front) Losi mini-T green springs (rear) JeepinDoug springcups Mods: - external limiters ![]() Front lower links are only available in a “Low Clearance” (LC) version and measure 110mm e2e with revo rodends. ![]() For rear lowers you have two options, a “Low Clearance” version (first pic below) and a “High Clearance” version (second pic) and measure 128.5 mm e2e with revo rodends. ![]() ![]() For my build I am going to run the HC rear lowerlinks, upperlinks will be made out of CF tube and are going to be the next update … First I measured the needed length after installing the lower links and shocks and made some M3 all-thread mock-up links. As mentioned before, I already intended to use the SCX10 shocks over the bigbores, main reasons were preload adjustment and weight. When I compared both options closer, I also noticed the SCX10 shocks to be slightly longer as the #2660 bigbores (without capmod). Another factor in favour to start off with the SCX10 shocks … ![]() external limiters: front 7.5mm, rear 7.5mm shockoil (Losi): front 30wt, rear 50wt Pics of all parts together for the first time … ![]() ![]() When axles and chassis are bonded I always run in to problems fitting the rig in my foto corner, making it harder to get a good pic … Total weight right now: ![]() |

Looking good. My high clearance links have not arived yet. They do look good. I started out with scx shocks then went to BB with shock cap mod. However i will soon be going back to the scx shocks as you have for similar reasons. Keep up the good work. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2 |

Hey Ronald there was a couple of reasons at. the time i swapped out the scx shock. The main one from memory is i didnt have good spring retainers buy as of the last order Tomi made me some from delerin. Also at the time had just litrerally taken the scx shock of a scaler and they needed a clean up. It was just easiet to use the BB's i had. The BB's work very well and i am happy with them but the scx shocks are a lighter setup so am going to give them a go again. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2 |

| ![]() I agree ... they look natural indeed ![]() Well … I am in the waiting room here, I had to order some parts before I can really proceed. I was hoping to make use of some reinforced stock AX10 driveshafts but I didn’t have enough driveshaft parts to get to the desired length for the rear. So being obligated to get parts I decided to go with the WB8 shafts instead . Also ran out of 2mm spacers, so those are on order as well. I mocked up the upperlinks using Axial rodends (6mm) and they touch the chassis only a little bit on the rear when articulating. Revo ends have a 7mm diameter so in order to run them free I will have to space out the sidebraces a bit ![]() While waiting for the parts I will get to making the CF upperlinks and work on rims and tires … Some random pics of current state … ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Jan ... It is fun to make wheeldesigns, I made these special for this build ... But I also gave the template's of my design's to Tomi ... so far I did about 10 I think. But you know what, I bet we all haven't seen all of Douwe's en Ben's designs yet ... ![]() |

| ![]() Thanks 63comet my pace is good and everything is falling together nicely ... ![]() I was able to get some more work done tonight, I got the CF upperlinks done. I was talking with TotoRax about his CF upperlinks before. I really like his way of constuction and the good results he has with it. Pics of testing them to failure convinced me easy … If I would do CF tubelinks it would be TotoRax’s way …. So here is my first go at it ... CF upperlinks Axial rodends TRX revo balls CF tube 4x0.75mm Mockup links are done with Axial rodends, which makes it possible to space out the sidebraces with just revo balls. Additional spacers are needed for using revo ends, cause they will bind on the chassisplate while articulating. The smaller diameter of the Axial rodend is helping there, no binding … BUT … also made me nervous there was enough meat left when drilled out and tapped … I decided to just try it and go for the Axial rodends ![]() How to make CF tubes “The TotoRax way” :
![]() To make sure they are the correct length I made me a quick “linkboard” to glue them up. Poor hand drilling skills resulted in only one hole available for making the 90* rotated rodend frontlinks. I will let them cure overnight and install them tommorow … |
