Yeah, thanks Harley! Super useful information.. I've had RC's for 8 years but didn't decide to do a kit until a couple months ago. I wish I had some of this info before I dumped so much $$$ on my sons Deadbolt and my G6 kit ;) but better late than never!

You going to fire up the printer to do any parts for your build?

I have one project in mind. However I only want to do it if I plan to offer them to the public, unless it is purely cosmetic. So we will see!

Harley, how do you feel about the HH 35t motor in the rig now? I've been driving on 3S and if I put in an SV3 esc, I think going up to a quality 35t would give me the better low end that I'm looking for. I just have nothing to compare to the Axial 27t so far so I can't say for certain that this is what I "need", but I feel that the low-end speed could be a bit more smooth. I have yet to try the SV3 on the 27t but perhaps playing with the throttle curve could help.

If you want smooth low end and similar speed to what you have, then pick up the Crawlmaster 13t that I am using. If you want more torque and could give up a little top end but want super smooth low end, then you can step up to the Crawlmaster 16t.

Will the stock ae5 esc support the 16 t Holmes hobbies motor? I want more slow speed/climbing. The top speed is fine for what I do with my deadbolt.

Thank you

Yes, even though it is listed as a 16t it is pretty much the same as a 35t. The 13t is closer to the stock motor for speed and is much like a 27t.

Nice build I have a idea on the light bar. I drilled out the upper holes on the stock mounting bracket. Went to Ace and bought some rubber bushings to center the light bar. This keeps the light bar down and out of harm way when the truck rolls over.

Only 3s, I never run anything less. Going back to 2s after running 3s feels like someone pulled half your spark plug wires off!

Howlers battery tray is very similar to another one sold by a guy though his Facebook page, can't remember his name now but it is very similar. But anyway nice people make upgrade parts.

So, will a 5000 mAh 2S fit on here?
