I was looking at those rims, now I know to buy them. Great job so far.

For those wondering how the DB would look with a square (Rigid) lightbar, I just got mine mounted up last night. I was never able to find any other pictures of the new Deadbolt with them, so I figured I would post here if anyone was interested to see how it looked.

The square Axial Rigid looks infinitely better than the big round lights. Nice work. The light output on those lights isn't great with regular 5mm LED's but the styling is a hit.

Yeah, it definitely looks better. I only have two issues with it, one is with the durability. It's obviously not as stout as one with an aluminum housing, so I'll be curious to see how it holds up. Then again, it is cheap and easily replaceable in the event of some disasterous carnage. I actually like the fact that it is plastic due to the light weight, not to mention I won't cringe near as much if my rig takes a highly likely top down gainer off of a tall ledge and lands on a $20 something lightbar versus a $50-100 aluminum deal. I just wish it was a little thicker plastic.

The other issue is with the inner led holder. It appears to be structurally necessary and will only fit the regular LED's. If it's removed or modified, it will make the entire assembly a lot flimsier. I have a bunch of the cut to size led strips I was hoping to use instead of individual LED's but it looks like they will not really work with this particular setup.

BTW, here is a super handy link to use for designing your own LED light system, I was just using it to design my own and figure out what the hell I needed for a 14 led string! LED series parallel array wizard
I'm sure it's been linked before around here, but I figured it would be helpful to reiterate.

Does the weight of those steel wheels help much? I've got Axial 8 hole beadlocks with Treps and stock foams on our SCX10s and I'm thinking about getting those wheels. I just can't decide if that money would be better spent somewhere else such as some better foams for now and then think about the wheels later. I'm considering the wheels because I'd like to try to get the trucks a little better planted by adding a little more weight down low and maybe playing with widening the track a bit.

These wheels, while being mostly steel, are not very heavy. If would not say that they would be the most efficient way to add weight down low. If you like the style and need a beadlock then they are great choice. The nice thing about them is being able to easily change the width with the swap of a VP hub.

Thanks. Sounds like they don't really offer enough advantage over the 8 holes to warrant replacing them until I have to. I think I'll spend that money on some foams instead. That's kinda where I was leaning anyway, but it's always fun to upgrade something you can actually see so I guess I was looking for an excuse to get the wheels instead!

I have ran them in 2 rigs previously, but they were both the first versions of the servos. I have a different servo I plan to run in this truck that most people haven't looked into before.

Ha, I called it...a steering knuckle, where's my cookie?!

I know that the low end is going to be smoother with the HH Motor, but I'm curious since you did a direct replacement and reused the same pinion, have you noticed a difference in top end speed?

No, top end is nearly the same. I wasn't concerned with top end though, I am happy with the speed that a typical 27t gives in this type of truck. The low end is where I was wanting to get the improvement.

Same here, I'm pretty happy with the top end on 3S, but the low end is pretty twitchy with the cheap stock motor. I've not even looked to see if it can be disassembled and turned on a lathe, but as cheap as a new HH motor is, I'd rather run the stock one till it dies and get the HH later than fool with turning the comm.

Subbed. I'm new to the drums and RC world. I looked at this truck when I was trying to find my first RC. Now I wish I would have bought this rig.

Hey Harley what's the track width with the SSD wheels? Hoping RPP gets them in stock soon.
