I posted this up a few months ago when I first got my truck, if you flip the stock light bar mounts left to right the width between the mounts ends up perfect for most 5 in light bars.

This is my truck with a 5 in MadDog light bar.

Nice catch, makes it pretty easy for most people I'd think. I'll take a look at how that works with a 5" VP.

I'll look into it. The laser place was a no go as the thinnest they had was 16 gauge. Running it through another place next, I'll touch base.

Nice, I'm looking at making my own mounts to move my lightbar down a bit, just below the top of the bar, so the cage will take the brunt of the abuse when it goes over on its top. I like the way it looks now, just a little wary of its durability. It shouldn't hurt the looks too bad if I lower it a bit, I'm hoping anyways.

I hadn't thought to do the sliders like you did.. Great idea! I wanted more clearance so here was the mod I made to the stock ones.

I used a dremel to cut off the outer portion of the slider. Kind of like you said, if you want to play around with the parts you have!

I ordered 3 of these after seeing them in your videos. Got them today. Really nice and can easily be used for work or storage while your rig is not being used.

Anyways looking forward to following this build and doing as many of your mods as possible. Two of my sons are getting the Deadbolt and G6 Wrangler for Christmas and I have asked Santa to bring me the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited C/R Edition.

I come from years of experience in the nitro world, but new to the crawling world. Looking forward to having some fun with these things.

I have never had more fun in RC than hiking trails with a few scale rigs. Sounds like you guys will be setup!

Again, these super early videos and such are not always very entertaining and make me a little crazy when doing them as they are pretty basic. I don't want to lose the masses right off the bat though is the thing (not the RCC crowd as most people on here are more than savvy enough to do simple modifications).
Great build ya going on Harley, I resently picked up a Deadbolt so I'll using some ideas I reckon

Any updates on the above plate?

That's shameless thread bumping...

That tray is a slick and cheap solution.

Are you going to show everybody how you waterproof electronics?
