Sorry, I replied to you.

This is what happens when idiots get cars. He reportedly said he was trying to refill his tire with air and correct a groove in the sidewall caused by driving with low pressure.

Just a little more air will fix it.

Yep! In the end it's another Darwinism fail.

What kind of men are people raising if they can't even fill a tire with air?

It's even stranger, as just about every air machine I run across allows you to preset the target PSI and shuts down at that number (and rips you off to the tune of $1.50). I haven't tried it, but I'm also willing to bet you can't set those machines to insane PSI levels for liability reasons.

That's a WTH itself. You have to pay for air?

Yeah air can be very dangerous and usually there are safety measures to prevent idiots from hurting themselves and to prevent system failures.

I'm guessing this snowflake is going to sue the service station for making his ears ring.

At most places, yes, you do have to pay for air here in the US where I live. We don't really have service stations anymore though. Most garages have gotten rid of their gas pumps. You have repair garages and gas pumps are at convenience stores...

Whats even worse (for me) is our business leases from a gas station across the way, water lines arent metered properly and WE pay for the water service (the actual city water bill) that they charge their customers to access

Nothing is free in California...not even freedom.

Hell, you can't even let your car idle with the possibility of getting arrested.

That's because the air quality makes them feel guilty to charge for it.

What do plastic straws cost in Cali now?

Aren't those illegal as well?

A couple weeks ago I ate at a restaurant that used paper straws. Nothing like eating paper while you drink Coke. The pulp might be fine in orange juice (I like mine pulp free), but not in Coke. Modern day hippies are ruining the world!

Now instead of BYOB it's BYOS.

We used to just make fun of California for such things, but it's so much closer now. Chapel Hill has decided that scooters are suddenly a crisis and are trying to determine how to regulate them, or ban them altogether.

WTH? It's getting harder to remember a country where we rode bicycles without helmets and smoked in restaurants.

Well... Air can be dangerous, or cause other dangers, at the least.

I was helping a former employer change tires on one of his oil trucks. He explained to me why, after setting the tire and the lock ring, you inflate the tire in a safety cage. He went on to explain that, if the bead fails and the ring blows off the wheel, chances are you aren't going to live to tell about it, as that ring's first destination will likely be your skull.

Then again, we are talking about 140 psi as opposed to 32.

That change was very much for the better. And I used to be a two-pack-a-day smoker...

I don't know about where you live, but here the bad changes happen when the city liberals move into the country.

We rode in the back of pickup trucks without seat belts, Jeeps without seat belts, and our toys were metal AND they had sharp edge. Oh how did we all survive the horrors?

Oh and straws are banned in California unless you ask for them.

Yes, there are lots of videos on YouTube of tires, including semi tires, wreaking havoc.

Me too. Not saying it was a bad change, just that that's where the "I don't so you can't either because it offends me" psychobabble started.

It's a big joke here that no one who lives in Raleigh or Charlotte is from NC, all from somewhere else...and yes, brought the things they leaving behind with them. Yay.

To be sure, we should have all been dead many times over. To think about the sheer fact that I logged from age 14 to 17, let alone without eye or ear protection or a faceshield running a saw...travesty!
