THEN, if it has inner fenders (which really are wheelwell/fenderwells) that fill in the gap between the chassis and body and hides everything from the side, you get an extra -1. Makes it worthwhile to make a full drop bed...huh? | |

Can you use other recovery items other than a winch and recovery by an assist vehicle? I see you can carry things like tow ropes, sand ladders etc. but can you use them?

You can use any items that will help you recover your vehicle or assist your vehicle as long as they don't violate the rules. You have to use some judgement as well as sometimes you can stack up points using something. You get points for usable scale items if they are used and not just for show. |

So since I didn't get a chance to check this thread before the power outage... Is removing the "x" pattern on the inside of my RC4WD tires considered modification in regards to class1? Also is changing out the foams considered modification? |

| Any modification to the actual tires is illegal. Changing foams is fine.

| Not trying to to stir the pot, but this could be a loop hole. Mods to the insides of tires is not really enforceable. Similar to the old wheel weight limit. Who's going to tear a tire apart to see?

honesting and integrity...there are many ways to skirt or manipulate the rules....keeping it simple inadvertantly does that. "SPIRIT OF THE RULES" is a good saying for now |

It's all for fun. That's how I see it, some take it too seriously. |

Team, I had a few questions; 1 - In the rules it states that you cannot show any electronics from the top and the side view. From the top, my rig is within the rules, but from the side, you can see the silver of the motor can. It's only a sliver, but it's visible. What say ye? Pass or no pass? 2 - My last question is about fender wells. I've shot two images of my rig, one from the side and one from down under. Would you concider that fender wells? Thanks gents! |

I'm sure not an official wording, but it looks acceptable to me on both counts. |

Just my personal opinion and I am no where an expert but to me, wheel wells should have a back, top, and at least one end.

I really hope that no one gets that ridiculous with tech that a bit of motor showing or a stray wire would effect someone running.. and those look like fenderwells to me to.. |

Truthfully, if I'm going to be teching rigs for 2 or 3 hours, I'm not going to be that picky. The rule is there to get people to hide their wiring, servos, and such. I don't want to see a 1/2" diameter wad of colored wires zip tied together through the wheel opening. If its a question, run the wiring through a black wire loom.....that should be fine. Just look your truck over and see if anything stands out, this rule is mostly for realism and photographs. I consider any panel that fills in the gap between frame and body to be an inner wheelwell.

Another quick question. I've been toying around with adding an internal cage to the Landy D90 build (see image below). I'm already counting Exo-Cage points at -3 My question is, if I add an internal cage following the A & B pillars and across the windshield, etc....would I get another -3 points for a 1 row interior cage? Thanks!!! |

I'm pretty sure it was one or the other for points, not both.
