Class 1 questions.... Question 1 How would this rig point out with the lengthened and half cabbed body? Would it be 15 points? • Hard body: full -8, Cab -4 • Complete Custom built body: (metal or hard plastic, no lexan) full -4, Cab -2 (in addition to hard body points) • Drop bed : -3 Question 2 Would these fender flares be legal? Question 3 How would you point the rear rollbar? I know that the front bumper would need to be wider and the tires need to be smaller, but it's close Thanks! |

Sloppy are these Montana rules your speaking too or the national ruleset? I'm not concerned about how this stacks up against the national rules, just Montanas. Here are my thoughts and concerns with your comments. 1 - I understand that it's not a full custom body, but are there no points given for mods like this? 2 - Why is that not a drop bed? It's dropped, right? The rules say NOTHING about how much it has to be dropped. Just my .02 cents. |

You are on the rules committee correct?? seems like you would know the answers to many of these questions regardless of what event they are for.. I kinda thought that was the entire point of National rules.. You know so people could go anywhere and be legal.. But you are right this is the MSD thread. I am out someone else can answer your questions..

I appreciate your response and have not started building anything yet, but just wanted to understand how the rules where interpretive from those that are running the event before I begin my build.

My turn. I agree it's not a custom body. Major Mods to OEM bodies is something we'll have to seriously address next year. My EXT cab hilux doesn't count either The drop bed is intended to be level at the bottom of the tailgate, but as the Wrangler body doesn't have a bed I'd probably give points for it. the flares are legal and the rollbar/headache rack for -2 as it's not and exo cage and doesn't cover a row of seats Thanks for being Patient with my and my answers I've been busy the last few days. The rules are the same as the National set but if anyone has Event specific or tech questions that need to be answered for our event Ben or I will do our best to reply ASAP. If you have rules questions that aren't specific to MSD's please ask them in the Sorrca section |

| Class 3 question...
I am in the process of building a class 3 rig. Is the Proline CGR Bronco cage going to receive points without any modifactions? It looks to have the correct bars in front and back of the cockpit. Also, will I be getting points for interior? |

They might be the right size to cut down and put in that interior.

| Class 2 CC-01
How does a basic CC-01 score for class 2? I just want to make sure I'm good or else I will have to build another truck. Inner fenders- does it count since they are molded in to the tub? -2 Cassis mounted steering servo -5 Front and rear metal bumpers -6 Tow strap, D-rings (2), Pull Pal -4 Head/tail lights -2 Winch -2 Roof mounted light bar -1 Total so far -22 |

Well, after reading the rules thread again, Class 2 doesntsay anythingabout a CC-01 chassis being allowed. Here's what it says: • Vehicle must run a full length rail chassis (The rail chassis must be as long as the vehicles wheelbase extensions are legal for bumpers as long as the chassis meets other specs) However, in the general vehicle details it says: • You must run a rail chassis (for example: Bruiser/Mountaineer, SCX-10, Reign RC K2-3S, 3L, 4, 5, MFM, X-Trail, CR-01, UTE, etc...) No TVP (twin vertical plate) chassis' or frame rail extensions on a TVPs. The exception to this rule is the Tamiya CC-01 or TA-02 ,(Hummer, S-10, Ford F-150 and Toyota Hilux)and Modified class Tubers. Please tell me I can run it in class 2. Or else I just spent a ton of money and time for nothing. Last edited by chino63; 03-08-2011 at 12:13 PM. |
