Here's the story, this receiver was in my MRC; worked great. Last night we are out crawling and my buddy's truck wasn't working so we thought it was the radio.
Pulled my receiver from the MRC and installed it in his truck. Truck still didn't work, Put the receiver back into the MRC now the MRC wont work.

Receiver shows that its bound, B1R arms but nothing works, no steering, No throttle.

Is the Receiver Bad, Any Ideas.

Thanks
I would rebind the RX to your TX to start with.
Are you sure you plugged the connections into the RX correctly? Usually the black or brown wire is towards the edge of the RX.

Usually, we program the esc to add drag brake, but you can try this to see if it helps.
Go into the "advanced" menu then "THR MODE" then "NTBRK".
Try playing with this setting.
Info can be found on page 65 of the manual.
Let me know if this works for you.

I appreciate the idea, but unfortunately it didn't make a difference anywhere from 0 through 100. Any other ideas I can try?

Tommy, would using a ESC with drag brake accomplish what you need ?

I'm sure it would, Devlin, but in my class I'm limited to ESCs that are available with RTR 2WD brushed short course trucks. Losi and especially the Traxxas XL-5 units are the common players. Even with a simple setup, it should be possible to dial in some brake trim and have the motor bring the tires to a stop as quickly/slowly as you'd like so I really don't understand why I'm unable to do so unless it's just an issue with the ESC. I do have a Traxxas ESC coming to me. Maybe it'll be better?

Based on your inconsistency in braking when you dial in trim, I would guess it is an esc issue.
Let us know how it works out when you get the traxxas esc in there.

Hi Harley,

I decided to pluck the courage up and buy a R2006GS Receiver, the good news is that it bound up straight away to my 4PL.

It is a HV model and S-FHSS, it is only 5 dollars less than the 2104 over in the USA, but here in the United Kingdom its the equivalent of about 15 dollars less, plus the 2104 doesnt seem to be available yet.

It is about 3/16" long and about 1/8" slimmer and is approx the same height compared to a 2104. It does have two aerial`s instead of one.

Just done a quick range check, Got about 600 feet away from my workshop, but it started to rain so I had to get back sharpish as I didnt have a coat on . The led didnt flicker once and that was with my 4PL behind 2" thick wooden doors that where closed and brick and concrete.

Just a follow up on the R2006GS RX, I installed my 2006 into my Associated SC10 for a bash at the weekend and I had no issues with range or interference

I posted the receiver info in another thread on RCC about 2 months ago. They range test fine (no problems to 100mtrs) and the R2106GF which sells for $10 less than the R2006GS also works with the 4PL. The R2106GF is half the weight of the stock rx & the R2006GS. The same also applies if you have a 6J radio as all the car FHSS receivers work with it.

I'm going to get both of these on the way to me so I can do some side by side comparison.

Great info guys

You can program the front wheels to have 100% while you can adjust the rear wheel speed (in your video tutorial, you made it adjustable in 10% increments), but can you do it the other way? So have the rear spin at 100% while the front is adjustable?

You have the ability to overdrive the rear (above 100%) which is the same thing.
