Losikid: Thanks! I bought the kit from you at Overkill RC. So the solder joints are unsoldered. Would you go back a page and take a look at my solder job on the TX Mother board?
GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread Maybe those aren't good?

I am running Win 8 and will re-install both the software and the patch.

The solder joints appear to be fine.

Its hard to tell from pictures, but I'd double check that the SB1 and SB2 solder joints were completely desoldered. You should see a "V" without any solder bridging over it.

Also, as i mentioned in my reply email to you, windows 8 may be the culprit...but usually this error is because the procedure I outline in the install instructions isn't followed.

Un installed all software. Re-installed all soft ware and re booted. Configured to ST-Link, USB, SWIM, STM8S105x6. Connected all wires and programmer before starting STVP. loaded the 6.1 software into STVP. Installed at 08000 and E70F

Cannot communicate with the board. Wrong board selection, or Check board power supply or check that previous session is closed.

Don't worry about the address range unless you're trying to save model memory's...Just do program --> Current tab

Make sure the polarity of the 4 pin wire is correct on both sides. The radio should be Beeping during this process. (unless its been programmed before)

There is a beep from the computer, but not the radio. There never has been a beep from the radio.

Then there is most definitely a communication error (If the radio has stock firmware on it).

Try flipping the 4 pin cable on one of the sides.

I can flash it if you pay shipping both ways...but i would suggest to keep trying till we figure it out.

If you're radio isn't beeping, and its the stock firmware. Then there is something wrong with your setup.

Are there any lights on the programming board turned on when its plugged into the computer?

Ensure that SB1 and SB2 are completely desoldered (see acouple posts above)

Make sure your plugging the radio in correctly. The Long pins of the adapter need to be plugged into the 4 pin cable. The short pins go into the radio port.
The green wire needs to be on the SB1 side of the programmer and the steering wheel side of the radio.

I can sit here and answer your questions and probably take alot longer to get to a conclusion. Or you can answer my questions and we can get to the issue awhole lot faster.

OK, The USB port on the computer is good as I can transfer data from my phone to the computer and use a Castle Link to program my ESC.

When setting up SVTP, I was told that parallel port wouldn't work because the ports were not active on my computer. But I am trying to program through USB, not Parallel port

I am not getting a beep from the radio. The only beep is windows when something plugs in to the USB port.

I scraped off both SB1 and SB2, no solder on them.

No lights on the programming board when plugged into computer.

I tried both ways Green wire to steering wheel side and green wire to antenna side. I even took out the battery pack from the radio and still no luck

I get the same messages as posted above. Board not communicating, then windows doesn't recognize the device plugged into the port.

Maybe the setup program problem?

Bad Programmer board? No lights what so ever when it plugs into the port.

Do I need to break the board in two? I have read older posts where they were told to break the boar in two.

Don't break the board in two

Did the lights on the programming board light up before you re-installed stvp? (Before windows didn't recognize the device)

It sounds like you have a bad programmer...
