I must have heated it too much tryi to solder them together and the pieces that were left from when I cut the old one off, they're gone. No idea what happened.

Take some servo wire. Strip and tin one end of the wire (3 leads), then heat the hole on the board, stick one of the wires into the molten solder through the hole (not very far), and repeat for the other 2 holes.

Now cut the wire to an inch long or so, strip and tin those leads, then solder them to the vr. Heat shrink would be a good idea, or hot glue. But it should be fine w/out it

Before you turn the power on, take an ohm meter, or a continuity tester, and make sure none of the wires are shorted

Has anyone ever compared the battery voltage indicated by the radio against the voltage checked with a multimeter? My GT3B started showing "LOW POWER" after what seemed to me not a lot of use so I decided to check the actual battery voltage with my Greenlee CM 750 multimeter and also a old Radio Shack multimeter. The radio was showing 9.2v, the Greenlee 10.1v and the Radio Shack 10.3v. So I decided that the Greenlee should be the most accurate. Thanks to all that have put all the hard work into the new firmware (running 0.6.1) I was able to recalibrate the voltage reading on the GT3B to match the Greenlee. Considering how long it took to go from 10v to 9.2v before I should have a good deal of run time to go again making the GT3B seam a lot better on battery consumption. To make maters worse I just tried a new set of batteries and the radio now shows 14.1v and the Greenlee 13v. So I recalibrated the GT3B to 13v, then put the old batteries back in and the radio shows 9.3 and the Greenlee 10.0v so it seems the GT3B is wildly inaccurate in reporting battery voltage. I'm going to calibrate to the lower setting so as to get everything out of the batteries and live with high new battery readings. Sorry for the long post.

losikid,

So on step 9 of the V2.1 manual, I use the file which is in the email you sent with the hack manual, correct?

If I get the following message, does it mean verification is complete?

Log activity is OFF
> Loading file C:\Users\\Downloads\ecwid_egood_593_1705002.s19 in PROGRAM MEMORY area ...
< File successfully loaded. File Checksum 0x26C9BC

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
EDIT:

I rebooted the computer and followed the step by step a few pages earlier in the thread and got this:

rogramming PROGRAM MEMORY area...
< PROGRAM MEMORY programming completed.
> Verifying PROGRAM MEMORY area...
< PROGRAM MEMORY successfully verified.

It is programmed right? Now I just bind to the RX and should be ready to go, correct?

Thanks,
Jon D.

Alright, just wrote this up in a PM...to setup 4ws and winches

ST trim buttons will work 4ws

D/R will work the rear winch
-(switch must be pressed for winch to wind.unwind)

and CH 3 Trim will work the front winch
-(switch must be pressed for winch to wind/unwind)

4WS -Ch1&3-ST Trim Buttons
Front Winch-CH4-CH 3 trim
Rear Winch-CH5-D/R switch

Activate 4WS mix

Long click EPA
4
3
0
NOC
Long enter

Map the 4WS mix to ST trim Buttons

Long Click REV
1
4WS
NOL
100
NOR
NOO
Press and hold enter
back

Map CH 3 Button to turn crab on/off

Long click REV

Map CH3 Trim switch to control Channel 4

Long click REV

CH4
MOM
Press and hold enter
back

Map D/R switch to control Channel 5

Long click REV
D
CH5
MOM
Press and hold enter
back
From the above part, I am having the following issues:

Map the 4WS mix to ST trim Buttons

Long Click REV
1
4WS
NOL - Gives me the following options: BAR, BMO, BRS, BEN, BNL. I stop with the mapping process.
100
NOR
NOO
Press and hold enter
back

Map CH 3 Button to turn crab on/off

Long click REV
C
4WS
SWI - only gives me "MO0 or MO1" as options. I stop the mapping here.
NOR
NPV
OFF
Press and hold enter
back

Any suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks!

hi losikid,

I've done the setup for dual esc (this one : GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread) after having reseted my radio and it's not ok.

When I put the DIG button (CH3. Trim) front : the crawler goes forward (like throttle) and when I put it rear the crawler goes rearward (like a reverse)

What can be wrong?

Thanks

Well I've tried several times to no avail to set this third channel. I'm trying to make the d/r mom for channel 3 winch, ch3 trim to be the trim for channel 3. Also trying to find out how to reset a model. I am at a loss.

My guess is you didn't scroll to "DIG" about 1/2 way down the template.

What firmware are you running?

I run the same template you linked (I set the "steps" to 5% instead of 20%) with no issues.
I also have a template that makes the dig a locked function instead of a momentary.

Everytime I post up that I can't get something to work, I figure it out 5 minutes after I posted!
