I didn't have a 11t or 12t so I put on the 13t that I had. Only problem I'm having is keeping the set screw tight enough for the pinyon not to spin. The Allen is way too small so it strips the wrench and won't work good enough. What fix is there?

All I had in the toolbox was some red. Put it on and it held for a full pack no problems. Took it off right away because I didn't want it to get stuck. I'll pick up some blue or just use some gun tite I have plenty of that and its the same thing. Going to order an 11t & 12t and maybe the 66t spur also. Any reason the Robinson racing pinions are prefered over the losi ones?

believe they are just a better metal and better made. maybe someone else can give a better answer. I'm using a rc18t pinion as that is what my lhs had in the right tooth count i wanted

Just purchased this motor for my MRC RTR. Finally got around to installing thr motor, I was unable to get the 66t spur gear to fit as it made contact with the drive shaft, also as previously stated by the OP my 12t pinion was too long...anyways I reinstalled everything and went for a test run. Initially everything ran for a split second then the esc would flash red when the trigger was depressed then go back to green. During this time there was no forward or reverse action. Im running all stock electronics...could that be my issue?? Also im running the Losi 600mAh Lipo battery.

Ive been a longtime lurker and an RC newb on this site but just recently decided to join. As with other forums the "Search" button is your friend...however it was not mine today.

Thanks in advance.

I am running the servo straight off of the battery which is a sky 40c 800mah. No problems with the esc yet. But like I said no servo through the esc so less stress on the esc. I only have a couple packs through it so far.

I am not sure but sounds like you over worked the esc and Fried it. Too much through it at once. Use a bec to run the servo or run a high voltage servo that can handle 7.4v+.

Yeah. Going to see how the frenzy handles the 11t first. Had his post bookmarked already. Thanks for the heads up though buddy!

So since i'll be waiting for the Mail Truck to deliver all of my parts by the beginning of next week I thought I would get busy on some other stuff like butchering my Flatirons. Really don't feel like spending the money on Rovers at the moment so I'll try this out for now. Also just realized that when I pulled my tires off that I was running the full size foams in my front tires with a set of Proline inner wheel weights that I had modified to fit my Axial 1.9 wheels. So Ill also be cutting down my foams for more flex out of the tire. Anyways on to the pics. I use a Set of HAIR CUTTING SHEARS to trim the lugs on my tires. My Father sharpens stuff like that for a living so he has a few sets put to the side for "work". They are extremely sharp so they work wonders.

All of the dark black in the pictures is the Fresh cut areas. I know sometimes it can be hard to tell from pictures.

Alright I got my pattern set on the FI's I decided for the middle of the tread to cut the Home Plate shaped knob and then on the next row both of the small outter pieces. Hopefully the pics show good enough what I did.

Here we have the uncut stock FI on the left, the full cut one in the middle, and the one with just the outside lugs removed on the right.

And a couple more shots of them same order as before but the uncut one is closest to the camera.

So just for fun I decided to weigh the Uncut and the Cut FI's. After all of the material I wanted to remove was gone I had taken off 5/8oz and just by squeezing them I can tell they are much more plyable and should grip amazing compared to stock form. On with the Pics!

Man I can't wait to run them. Seems like the flex of the overall tire more than doubled! Going to add a little more wait to the front and rear wheels as well.
