The 4link helped a ton with the Torque twist. All the parts can be found on Nitros website. I haven't installed the motor yet so I can't speak on it. I'm going to order a couple of Lipos with an alarm and a bec trying to hold off on a new esc until I can afford a sidewinder micro. The 4link alone puts me in the performance range of the slick rock. Better tires will put me over the top. I haven't weighted my wheels or messed with my foams yet and shocks are stock with pen springs on the rear. The larger servo seems to be glitchy, hopefully a bec will help with that.

I ordered a set of losi mrc 1.9 wheels from advantage hobby for 12$ and a set of x lock 1.9 tires from rc4wd on sale for 14$. I read about a mid to make the wheels actual beadlocks. I will try to find a heavy material to use for it. To get some weight in the tires.

Waiting on a hardware order from NitroRC to tear down and rebuild with a chassis that I am making out of a piece of rectangular aluminum that I had laying around. My order of chubs, knuckles, rear lockouts and swing shafts came in from 3racing. The swing shafts look much better than stock cups and dogbones. I think I will get a fair amount of steering from them. I am researching how to clock the front axle. I have some 1/4" tubing that I am going to try and make beef tubes with.

New chassis is coming along. Lots of dremel work. It's only 1" wide so the whole motor sticks out the side. Trying to figure out how to mount electronics on opposite side to offset this. Hopefully it doesn't end up much heavier than original setup.

So I missed the post where someone said that the mrc hex pins are smaller than the EMS hex pins. And I have these shiny green aluminum hexes that I bought. So I am cutting down a drill bit that is the size of the pin hole on HR swing shafts. It seems a little loose in the hex groove though. I will order some losi hexes and hope I don't break anything in the meantime.

I would like to thank everyone that contributed to this EMS 16 thread. You all have made this far easier than I expected it to be. It has saved a lot of guess work as well as trial and error out of my build. You guys are all awesome!

Read around. There is a lot more information on the 16. The people that own the Exceeds seem to praise them. But they get a lot of hate for sure. I got the small one because I wanted to play with it in my shop.

Got my tires mounted on the rims with the beadlock mod. Used PVC in the rears and found some cast iron pipe that was the correct diameter at work. Cut two 3/4 inch collars and chamfered inside and outside edges to keep from cutting the tired. They turned out 3 oz. each. Within two grams of each other. For some reason I feel like I should put the heavier one on the right front?? Mainly because that is the side that pulls when climbing a grade. Just a theory though.

I have an idea for over the axle steering. I was trying to figure out a way to do it behind the axle but I haven't clocked the chubs yet. I think I can run it under the servo plate though.

Need to get one of the kids to take some pics of her crawling. I've named her "Lucile" haha. Way to much fun. Very trying I haven't put in the new motor yet so it is dreadfully slow but crawls every bit as good as the neighbors slick rock!! As I get better at driving it will improve in sure. I've only run about 5 packs through it so far.

The bolts on the new motor are spaced farther apart so I will have to drill the plate. I am waiting on some pinions before I drill. Still lots to do though. Trim off bolts where I through bolted the axles and I want to flip my buckle over and try the over the axle again. Way too much flex in the first try.

I have been out collecting rocks. I have a pretty good rock pull set up in the corner of my shop. Ran 2 packs through it this morning. One of the screws holding in the drag link worked it's way loose. The new tires work very well!! They put a lot of strain on everything. Easily 200% better than the stock tires and wheels. The screw working loose is probably due to me not putting any locktite on them. I haven't worked out my steering yet so I was holding off still.
