This seriously has to be one of the most incredible scale builds I've seen yet. I am blown away by the cult following of the EB's and this is a testament to that following. You sir are a master of the scale scene as you are bringing something different to the table from the guys who build the comp rigs. I'm hoping you end up taking this to comps and see a ton of best of show awards for it. Awesome build!!

Check the proportions of the body I made him to yours. if they are the same then you could possibly use a mold made from the ProLine body to press a grill for yours. Smooth-on makes a high compression Resin that will handle somewhere around 30,000 PSI when properly heat treated.

Thats good info on the resin. I've been looking at casting and mold making materials. I wonder how different the proline dimensions are to the tamiya. I've got the tamiya body and the grill looks ok but I haven't checked it to scale yet.

Sorry for the delay in progress... So here is the latest installment. The 1:1 tailgate straps were slotted at the pivot points for a reason so they needed to be done the same in scale to get the gate to close so on to version 2. While I was at it i also wanted them to be removable like the real ones so the back gate can come off (i'm not sure why i would want to but...). That meant slotting the strap and turning a shouldered mounting point. A piece of welding rod was the perfect size for the job. Now for the redneck mini lathe... After that the end gets filed down to match the slot on the strap, length gets cut down to fit in the side of the gate, then silver soldered in place. Here is the final result. |

Here are pics of the body I made LR And here is a comparison between the Pro-Line body and the Tamiya, well as best as I could. Now just so you know the pics are a bit deceiving. the actual size of the Pro-Line body is larger then what I have here. LR went and shortened the molds he made off of the original body to get the proper proportions. This was done behind the doors so from the doors forward it is the same. I hope that helps
